I am quite a noob when it comes to installing drivers and stuff, so it just seems unfair that to (currently) play the game you have to do all these complicated (in my opinion) things.

Does anybody know if Id know about this particular issue?
Sorry if that's a stupid question it's just I haven't heard them saying anything about it yet.

SOLUTION (possible)
if the game is crashing with standard windows error at startup , start the game again and hit ALT-TAB repeatedly until the game is minimized and then you'll hear sound of the logos or intro and then maximize it and you can get in.

I would have not play this game AT ALL if i didn't found out this by ACCIDENT. I do not remember the actual error code.

Awwww it didn't work for me.

I always get screen tearing now though.

i have win7 and the ALT-TAB thing doesn't work...so i'm w8 for a fix

the game can't detect my videocard.....0 MB Video Memory

The thing that fixed it for me was installing the new driver.
And then I disabled catalyst AI to stop it freezing.

i have a nvidia card...

In nvidia control panel / manage 3d settings click the restore button to put all settings back on application control. Or you can look down the list to see if you've got any settings forced.

i finally got the game running by updating again to the latest nvidia driver

after installing the patch:
1. do a clean driver install http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=169555
2.http://www.geforce.com/News/articles/how-to-unlock-rages-high-resolution-textures-with-a-few-simple-tweaks
3.don't set AA over 4x or u will get screen tearing
4.make sure that all settings in nvidia control panel are set to default

now i get almost no screen tearing and good fps but game freezes sometimes for 5 secs +some low textures...
