Ragtag Reapers

John was out in front. He was scanning the horizan, hopeing the way they were going was the right way. John stopped for a moment and looked ahead, a hunched outline in the distance. John watched it as it moved, away from the group, John shrugged, it was going away it didn't matter. John thought about the question asked, he had no idea what was in there, for all he knew, what might be in there may rip their throats out.

Erin was going to answer Mikhail's question, but as she opened her mouth she inhaled some sand. She coughed a few times before spitting the sand back into the storm. She kept trudging on, the job wasn't getting easier. This was one of Erin's most miserable jobs so far.

"You see anything Enfield?" Erin questioned.

John looked back as Erin dealt with the sand, the reason why he had his scarf covering his mouth and nose, and the sunglasses protecting his eyes. "No," John replied, "Seen a creature, but it's gone now." John carried on walking, the wind dieing down, it was still hard to see, but visability was increased.

"Does anyone see that, way over there, off to the northwest. It looks sorta like a super mutant, though it may jsut be the sand."

River had been to many places in his occupation as a hunter and he could proudly say that in most any terrain he was never lost, unfortunately blowing sand was not a normal terrain, feeling his foot sink much further then normal river looked down and found that he had stepped in his own shoe print. Stifling a curse River scanned the horizon looking for any markers, spying a darker patch on the horizon River started walking in the direction, hopefully he wouldn't back track like last time with something to focus on near the path.

River continued walking and found that the splotch he had been walking toward was more then one thing, River was somewhat relived when he found that at the very least he was going towards human shaped objects. quickening his pace River made haste to join up with them. Perhaps if it wasn't the group from before these people would at the very least know how to navigate this forsaken dust bowl.
with a dull thunk Rivers hat fell to the ground hitting several embedded rocks and signaling his arrival to the group "This wouldn't happen to be a mercenary group by the name of the Rag Tag Reapers would it?" River asked the somewhat obscured people.

"That would be us," Erin stated, without slowing down.

She might have started to make a conversation, but the weight of another person was sapping her strength. Walking was a chore for her, and the sandstorm wasn't helping her. Hunger began setting in too, along with thirst. Erin's thoughts were becoming unclear and short. After a few more minutes of walking she fell to her knees in the sand.

Travis let go of Erin and limped to Mikhail as he had said. "Just put your right arm around my shoulder while I put my left behind yours." He said as he put his arm on Mikhail's shoulder.

River grinned through his mask " well that's good, nice to know you people didn't get killed by the radscorpions." removing his hat river flourished it to dump the small sand dune that had been growing on his head.
"So," river continued "any idea where we're going now?"

"I guess we're going to that garage Mel was talking about. That place had better have weapons, or at least ammo. If we don't get some good guns to fight with we'll never have a chance against those muties."

Erin felt Travis' weight coming off her, she felt relieved in some ways. As she got up she took the offered water and drank it, it was warm, but that was the least of her problems. She took sips of the water as she walked. To her relief the sandstorm came to almost a stand still. A building came into view.

"That must be the garage," Erin said to the others.

John looked ahead at the building, he could see a sign, ready to fall off it seemed. "Only one way to find out," John said, he looked back at the rest of the group. John headed towards the building, he came to the door, he slowly pushed it open, looking inside. It the common greeting area for these places, an old Nuka-Cola vending machines, a counter and a few chairs. "Guess we look around."

Mikhail pulled out Travis's loaned assault rifle and explored the main living area. "I don't see anything, but look for traps." He then went into the hallway to check out the bathroom when he happend upon a slightly ajar armored door. Going inside he saw the room's contents and yelles, "GUYS, LOOK AT THIS!"

Travis heard Mikhail yell. He loaded the pistol and went to see what was up. "Hey, Mikhail, you alright?"

River hung back for a moment after Mikhail's exclamation removing the sand from his shoes, waiting for more information before he moved. After all it would be bad if he was standing in the doorway when it turned out to be a trap or filled with ravenous ghouls.

"Relax. It isn't a trap. It's why Mel wanted us to get here." Unfolding in front of Mikhail was an armory. It was looted, but still contained enough weapons to take whatever the [censored] was in those vaults. He saw some microfusion cells, and quickly pocketed them. He then looked at the assault rifles, shotguns, and even a laser rifle, which he scavenged to make repairs to his own.

River walked lightly down the steps and joined Mikhail in the armory the man's tromped everywhere so I have little to worry about taking in the weapon supply three knives caught river's eye along with a 32. pistol loading the weapon and taking six additional bullets he shuffled his coat and looked the part of oddball waster once again. "So, did I miss anything while wandering the wastes?" River asked with obvious curiosity to Mikhail.

John didn't follow the others into the vault. John prefered his rifle over most weapons, though he did have a pistol just in case. John as he was looking around and found a large old torch, pushing the switch he could see that it was working, deciding to keep himself occupied whilst the others grabbed weapons, John sat down at the counter and started to take it apart. John first takes out the bulb to look at it, and he could see the bulb was fine and that the problem would most likely be inside the electronices. John pulled out a screwdriver he kept inside a pocket of his coat and started to unscrew the casing to look in it.

Erin decided to take a peek inside the armory. She noticed something that was more important to her than guns at the moment. MREs. She picked up one of the meals and opened it, it didn't have much of a scent, and didn't look rotted. She left the armory and took a seat at a nearby desk to eat her meal.

"So now where?" Erin asked in a happier mood.

John shrugged, "Suppose we look for the kids," John replied, he was now inside the torch, moving some wires around, "That is our mission and it hasn't changed." John looked at the wiring for the torch and could see some rust had built up on one of the connecters to the fission battery. John used some of his own water to clean the rust, he knew purified water was prescious in the wasteland, but when John was working with electronics was when he was it his happiest. After a few minutes John reconnecting the battery and tried the swtich again, the torch now lighting up the far wall. John swtiched it back off and drunk some of the water for himself.
