Raider attacks

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 2:12 pm

Well Met wanderers.

Quickie. My base has yet to be attacked in the Sanctuary, maybe because I am well prepared or may just not might time yet. Anyway, when being attacked at the Sanctuary will the attackers always use the bridge or can they crossd the river from anywhere, perhaps thefrom the direction of Red Rock?

Thank you

G.O.A.T

Sanctuary was not yet attacked, but a farm settlement was...by super mutants, they attacked from one same direction.

I think that attacks on settlements are based on food produced vs defence.

When the NPC thanked me for defending them from the supermutants, the dialogue option offered to say "why did they attack", the NPC answered, they are attracted to food.

I've played 14 hours so far and only the farm was attacked were i had no defence...

It is a moot issue.

1. Sanctuary will become one of your larger settlements and one of best places to grow huge adhesive farm, due to size of land avail and easy river for industrial water purifier

2. With huge food/water output, defense rating minimum will also be huge.

3. Best use of resources to supply defense rating is heavy machine gun turret. You will need lots and lots of HMG turrets to meet minimum defense rating for huge farm output at sanctuary

4. Even after fortifying the hell out of the bridge chokepoint, leaves lots of HMG turrets you still need to make for minimu defense rating. Set them all in line along entire river side seawall - the raised concrete pillars are bonus for extra elevation between the ground level ones.

Other settlements will be the real issue of where to focus defense fire and create killing zones with defensive walls. Sanctuary is a moot point where attacks come from unless you dont build up sanctuary as a large or main base. If yo dont, then where attacks come from dont really matter. If you do, then where attacks come from wont matter with the HMG turrets all over the place just to meet minimum defense rating.

Super mutants aren't attracted to human food, their attracted to humans for food. Hmmmm delicious humans.

I prefer laser turrets to heavy machine gun turrets.

ok, I better invest in many more turrets then lol. as if I understand the above correctly attack can therefore come in from across the river and not necessarily voia the bridge. I thught id done well funnelling attacks from the bridge but it would seem I may of been complacent then.

Thank you.
