Raider question

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:09 pm

Will the raiders in new vegas be like in fallout 3 like there just generic raiders like there is no one leading them i really hope you can kill the raider leader if they have one and they will really disappear from the game and you wont see them anymore.

Also I have been watching the new vegas vids and the armour looks the same as in fallout 3 like the merc charmer outfit and merc grunt outfit and vault armour suit i mean i thought they would of changed them up. And the buildings look the same also.

And do the streets lights light up? because when i played fallout 3 i saw street lights but they never light up :(

There is no Raider leader, they're just a gang of people who kill anyone they see. I doubt they will disappear.

There were raider gangs with names in the older Fallout games. Raiders in the west must be more organized, apparantly.

There are plenty of new outfits in New Vegas. They just brought in some from 3 as an addition.

Street lights on the Vegas strip should work. They didn't work in 3 because there's no generators working. No workers maintaining the generators. No government paying the workers. Do you understand how infastructure works?

Why would the disappear if you kill their leader? There would probably be fighting amongst the Raiders and a new, stronger Leader will emerge...

There are old (i.e. Fallout 3) models and new ones...why shouldn't they continue using existing props when they can? Adds diversity...also thanks to reusing of the models, you can play the game this year...imagine if they had to start from scratch...you'd be looking forward to spring 2012 then instead of Fall 2010...

Vegas has juice, so there will be lights on at night...

1- there are "feral raiders" and a groups called the kahns. they were in Fallout 1 and 2

they are a more organized raider group then most. and also more powerful.

2-there are alot of similar armors. but lots of new ones have been added too. for your building question. i dont know. the graphics havent gotten a big upgrade and im fine with it. graphics dont really matter

3- Where would they get electricity. F3 had no power source.

New vegas might have them. but i doubt they would choose to power street lights with the power from hoover damn. they would probably save it for important settlements or NCR Outposts

Without having to power multiple counties and areas, Hoover Dam should provide more than enough power to provide electricity to everything with more left over to spare. Basically, if the event of an apocalypse where people stop showing up to work in power factories, Vegas one of the best places to be in the world if you still want to plug in those kitchen appliances.

I hope not all Raiders are immediately 'feral'. I understand there being roaming gangs of raiders like we see in A Boy and His Dog, or Road Warrior, or the Book of Eli, that attack on sight. It would be nice to have them at least attempt to rob you first, however, much like the highway robbers would in Oblivion. Something to give you the chance to hand over items or weapons to avoid combat, or bluff, or intimidate, etc. I hear that disguises actually work for most of the factions in New Vegas, like being able to pass for NCR by wearing ranger armor, and vice versa. It would be awesome be able to dress like a certain raider group and get left alone unless you get too close to them.

For organized raiders, it would be neat for them to have established bases where you could meet with the leader and make a deal to go unmolested, or be able to wipe them out, preventing you from encountering that particularly gang for a certain amount of days or weeks in the game.

And for goodness sakes, I hope not all raiders find rotting corpses as acceptable interior decorating. I don't care how evil or crazy I am, I wouldn't sleep in the same room as bloated bodies. And if I happened to be part of a cannibal raider gang, I would keep that crap in the fridge, know what I'm saying?

It would be nice if there were different Raider gangs. It was always kind of strange that there was only one unified body of Raiders that automatically hated you and everyone else in Fallout 3. It just wouldn't seem right if there was a group of sentient individuals that would always mindlessly attack you. Hopefully they fixed that this time around.

I believe there were 3 raider gangs during fallout 1 they originated from vault 15 along with the shady sands people. And if i remember correctly shady sands people started NCR. Maybe it was just one of vault-tecs experiments to put most of the leadership oriented genetic strands into one vault and see what happens, that might explain why there is more govermental structured towns and groups on the west coast versus the east coast.

i always assumed (so that i didnt get slightly annoyed when they charged me with a lead pipe while i had a gatling laser and power armor) that they went physco due to long term radiation exposure lol

Powder Gang sounds like they like explosives like dynamite, can't wait to join them in a playthrough.

Also hope to actually join the Khans, I mean it was just business so maybe if I work with them we can be raiders together.
