Raising the level cap again would be nice

That's not my point. Your character would become unstoppable.

Your already unstoppable, with power armor and the hologram rifle you can one shot kill deathclaws and when they hit, if they hit you, it hardly affects you.

I know this can't be implemented retroactively, but:

I'd love a system where you don't get any freely distributable skill points when levelling. How about skills increasing automaticly when and only when you're using them?
You like picking locks? Well you'll get better by doing so, but this won't improve your gun handling skills.

And yes, this is pretty much the TES system. And yes, I loved that.

The TES system is one of those "good idea, but lousy in practice" things. With that system, the only reason to do quests is to advance the story and to get loot, rather than to advance the story, get loot, and get XP.

It also encouraged players to do stuff like weigh down their "cast magic" key with quarters then go off and eat a sandvich. (See: Oblivion.)

Your already unstoppable, with power armor and the hologram rifle you can one shot kill deathclaws and when they hit, if they hit you, it hardly affects you.

You're mistaken. Or you play on very easy. Deathclaw claws ignore all DT. They also do upwards of ~60+ damage per hit.

Still after awhile you just get really rich, I have over 250 stimpacks!!! I have more money than I would ever spend and now I just throw it around and besides their is still the hologram rifle, two hits to kill a deathclaw, one if its a critical hit, I went to the deathclaw promontory and got hit maybe three times, I could just go around naked.

I think our generation has encouraged the dumbing down of an RPG,

Nope. Been that way, on computers at least, for 25 years now.

Build up your weak party into demigods with the ability to kick total ass.

Not if you crank up the difficulty setting. Besides, the DLC is almost always MUCH harder (in FO3, the new super mutants and enclave that broken steal added too a [censored] ton of bullets to take down, and EVERYTHING in point lookout and zeta took a LOT before it died. The pitt was the only one that was as easy as the regular game).

I really hope they raise the level cap (they can make it harder you know, thats not hard at all...) I was 60 odd hours into FNV with still many quests left (let alone left to find...) and i was at level 27, then i got Dead Money finished that at about 32, came back to FNV and explored and found heaps of new quests, now i have hit 35 and i have heaps to go... If the next 3 DLC do not allow you to go past 35 it will be crazy, its not about being super powerful, like i said they can easily make the DLC very hard if they want, its about the fact that this is a RPG and leveling, gaining xp and customizing and upgrading skill is a core part of it... A level cap is ok only if its actually hard to get there! It makes sense close to the end, but with so much more content on the way, (plus another big chunk of FNV for me) it would be a bad choice.

I think the overall level cap should be around 45 so people who are at 35 can go another 10 levels or so across the 3 DLC's to come...buy the time you play the last DLC if you are maxed, cool, but yeah to much content ahead for there not to be another level cap raise. :P

If every DLC ups the level cap, it will be FAR more than 45. They already announced the next 3, but I saw an article that said another 4 are already being made and 2 are being considered. That brings the possible total to 10 DLC!

I haven't even reached level 35 yet, but I would still support more levels. When I hit 30, I just had to start over so I could respec and finish off my achievements. I know it is an unpopular idea, but I love leveling to the point of being a god. How had could it possibly be to make the increases optional? Then everyone could be happy.

From wikia:
"According to one video game news blog[9], a source "close to Bethesda Softworks" spoke to journalists on condition of anonymity, saying that four DLC's other than Dead Money were in development as of December 2010, with two others being considered, which if approved would make for a total of seven add-ons for release over the next two years. Of the four DLC's planned for release after Dead Money, the source was said to have stated that the Courier has a "relationship" with Ulysses and that the nature of the relationship would surprise players. He also said that a future DLC would add an area to the game that players "likely thought they would never see", as well as "a personality [from] Fallout 3"."

Dead Money - 1.
4 DLC's other than Dead Money - Honest Hearts, Lonesome Road, Old World Blues, ???? - 5
Two others being considered - 7

Including Dead Money this "rumor" states that there might be 7 DLC's but 5 are for certain.

So 10 DLC's?
Source please.

According to wikipedia:
On October 18, 2010 Bethesda Softworks announced that DLC will be available for New Vegas, in keeping with its predecessor Fallout 3. The first, named Dead Money, involves working alongside three other captives to find the treasure of the Sierra Madre Casino and adds new achievements, perks, terrain, enemies and decisions for the player, as well as raising the level cap to 35. It was released for the Xbox 360 on December 21, 2010 and for PlayStation 3 and PC platforms on February 22, 2011. Three further DLC packs are due to be released across all three platforms simultaneously in the months following the cross-platform release of Dead Money.According to sources at Bethesda, four more DLC packs are in production, with further two in consideration; a total of eight DLCs are planned for New Vegas. The possible names of three DLC packs ("Honest Hearts", "Lonesome Road", and "Old World Blues") have been found in the in-game text files.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas#Downloadable_content is the exact link to the page. The only thing that doesn't have a citation is the bit about the names of the next three. however, upon looking at the site they got there information from, it would seem that they misread it, and the original site can't add. You're right, it's a possible 7. As much as I'd like there to be 10, that makes much more sense. If they release the next one late this month or next month, they can release one a month till just b4 the release of skyrim. This is probably what will happen, cuz I can't see them releasing anymore after skyrim comes out, since I'm sure thats what there focus will be.

Honest Hearts, Lonesome Road and Old World Blues, Those 3 are written on random walls at specific places. There may be more similar writing that nobody has really thought to posted. If there is more then those 3 then somebody might need to comb New Vegas and see if there are other writting on the wall at random places.

The problem is,

Some people dont like to play like demigods

You are strong enough with level 30, thats very obivous

at level 35, you are nearly unstoppable

Thanks to the mods, my level cap is 25,

And please, give me back the trait where you gain 1 perk per 4 levels

Weight

Gabriel plays New Vegas on Xbox360, So, Maybe he/she has a point, he/she cannot mod the console to have a personal level cap

Also, Im not insulting you, my point is that some console user dont want more level neither more perks

And please, dont say "buy it on X" again, what if he/she dont want, it cannot be forced to buy for another game for the PC just because of the balance

Personally I don't care about being unstoppable. I sometimes LIKE breezing through games. Besides, if you want a challenge, i don't see why you don't just up the difficulty level (that's why there's an option in the first place). It might not be impossibly hard, but it's at least a little more balanced if you crank the difficulty.

I always play on VH, so either I'm just very very very skilled at the game or Very Hard just isn't very hard at all. :/

I'm a console user myself.

As such, if Beth/Obsid want to give me 20 more levels, or zero, that's up to them. At that point, I have some choices available to me:

1) I can play it and take it for what it is.

2) I can stop buying DLCs that do not cater for my tastes.

3) I can purchase it on a platform that supports mods.

4) I can come here and whinge about how my life is now ruined.

That's the reality. Best option - if I don't like it on my Xbox, I have to buy it on PC and mod the hell out of it. It's the practical solution, and pretty much the only one that some people will get what they want without the universe shifting course to revolve around their heads. That's the option that you have personally taken, and for you, it appears that that is a good option.

I don't consider the "Don't buy it" argument valid either.
I should not have to not buy it just cause they couldn't act up like good RPG developers and balance their [censored] game straight.

Because I've been a Fallout fan for 12 years and I want it for lore and content and feel I shouldn't have to be excluded because I'm of a rare breed of gamers that actually like balance?

And how am I suppose to know how unbalanced it is when I haven't bought it?
I find that out through trial and error.

Only if I can't build my skills up anymore.

You could practically get 80 points in everything if they increased it to 40.

1. You're very special, and we're all very impressed.

2. You're already saying the game's unbalanced, you'll know in advance if a DLC raises the level cap even further (2b. OMG the horror of unbalance),

3. and you can get all the "lore" from the wikia.

1. Point is, Fallout isn't just "another game" for me, it's a franchise I love, I can't let content just sit idly by.
Might sound obsessive but I "have to" buy it, cause while the balance will be shot to hell I know I'll love the dialogue, quests, ending sliders and lore.

2. Yeah, but since we're talking about balance I meant in general, of course it's gonna be unbalanced with more levels, but I meant other things, like the dispenser, I had no idea it was even gonna be in Dead Money let alone that it was gonna pump out weapon repair kits so easily.

3. I want to go through the dialogue, the quests, the area, the enemies and the weapons in order to know what they are and what it is I'm discussing.
I can't do that by simply "reading" the wikia cause while I know the lore bits I don't have a clue about the rest of the DLC's content.

Why are you so against balance though? Or that someone asks for things to be patched?
