Ralof VS Hadvar

I also like how Hadvar says "maby we can reason with them" in response tithe first to Stormcloaks you find as opposed to Ralof's "let's ambush the poor bastards"

I like hadvar better, ralof talks waaaaay too much in the beginning for my liking. I'm like " I'm going to my execution here. Would kindly shut the [censored] up for a second?" Hadvar is pretty cool though, and it's not like it was personal. As for who,s the better warrior. Hadvar because he's actually a trained soldier. While ralof is some random guy the cloaks picked up.

Hadvar says no such thing. YOU say that. He was just going to try and sneak past/ambush them too.

It doesn't matter; you still have to fight them when you enter the room.

Your character only talks for dragon shouts. it is Hadvar that says that, I play with subtitles on.

You do not say any audible in game dialogue besides the dragonshouts, you should go back and try it again. (But pay more attention this time)

You get a dialogue option when he talks to you where you can say "Let me try to reason with them" or something to that effect. He then says something like, "Well, if you think you can do it, go for it." But he doesn't bring it up.

No it's definitely Hadvar who says to reason with them. I've done the starting dungeon about 30 times so I know it by heart.

Also I find it odd that your Ralof wins 100% of the fights, another guy used the console to make them fight and Hadvar won 100% of the time o.o? Maybe different difficulty settings favours dual wielding fighters.

Never had that happen to me. I've made like 8 different characters, too. Hadvar always says it himself.

Did you initiate dialogue with him?

Perhaps it's scripted to just keep things moving so that if you DON'T open dialogue with him, he says it. I always initiate dialogue with him at that point... I thought I had to.

Lol what? I've made over twenty characters in my quest for a main char, and I have never gotten that option. I can't help but think you're lying or misinformed.

I'm just going to drop it so this thread can get back on topic.

I just went through it again to record a video showing this, and it didn't happen. So now I don't know what the [censored]. The first time I played through the game, when he gets to the gate with the Stormcloaks on the other side, it opened a dialogue with him and gave me two options: "Maybe I can reason with them" and "Let me handle it."

He didn't say the line, though, either. He just opened the gate and rushed in with his sword a-swingin'. Still got a video of the whole thing, but it doesn't show what I wanted it to. Will post the link as soon as YouTube is done processing.

Weird, for me he said it then walked in all calmly until they attacked first. Maby your Hadvar is kinda the mean version 0.o

Yes, but in game we see Stormcloaks win against Imperial soldiers all the time. Ralof uses either a 2h weapon or duel wields axes which is seems more deadly to face then a 1hand weapon and a shield. Also, the differences in the stats of the equipment we see Hadvar and Ralof use is rather small.

Really? In my game, the stormcloaks always lose in a fight between the two

It's probably a scripting bug or something. I don't get the major ones like crashing, lock ups or slowdowns; I just get all the bugs that mess with scripted events and quests. :/ He DID start bugging out while I was trying to talk to him as he pulled the chain to open the door. As he's pulling it, I kept tapping A on him (I use a gamepad) and when he regained his movement, even though I stopped pressing A, he kinda spazzes out a bunch of half-spoken lines in rapid succession.

Not quite done processing (take forever, why don't you) but here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_POAfM7-Wo&feature=youtube_gdata

It was funny doing the video though and I should have started it from the beginning of the scene; because I have Killable Kids installed, when I ran up to the part where the guy calls the kid to cover, Alduin hit me, and the kid, with his fire breath and totally killed the kid XD

According the to current poll results, it's looks like I'm going against the grain here.

I prefer Ralof's personality over Hadvar's. Hadvar's personality is kinda flat and nonchalant. Ralof is more spirited, IMHO. Both are capable warriors, but Ralof turns into a madman when duel-wielding axes!

I liked Hadvar, until he started stalking me everywhere.. I could exit my house in Whiterun and he decided to run from the gate to me and just stand battle ready saying "Am glad your with me on this.." And thats it.. He creeped me out

He even stalked me and Lydia in our dungeons, followed us and just stood there watching us kill stuff without.. I feel used, i feel... *Cry* He was creepy !! *CRY*

Same here.

You weren't in a position to save me Hadvar, but the fact you were the only one to point out I wasn't on the list in a questioning way was much appreciated, as was the regret you seemed to have about it.

Thanks Ralof, your sentiments about dying with dignity are nice and all, but maybe you'd like to try and tell them I'm not with you. No? Well, ok, but you wont be be getting a letter telling you I have left you money in my will.

And yes, I did like the Legion guys there tried to do more for the villagers. I can't hold it against the Stormcloaks for scarpering, considering the situation (well maybe the ones that decided to try and kill me and Hadvar in the keep while a dragon was attacking), but Hadvar didn't seem to think twice about helping you and the Empire didn't seem to think twice about helping the villagers over trying to kill Ulfric (well, except for the ones that try and kill me and Ralof in the keep while a dragon was attacking).

Agreed

Hadvar. A thousand times Hadvar. He just seems more genuine. If there's anything worse than a yes-man (Hadvar), it's a mouth-foaming blind faith man (Ralof). Hadvar proves himself a friend from the beginning. That's enough for me.

"Who... are you?"

i have to say ralof on the second one, i hate hadvar for the sheer fact that the voice actors terrible, i love the intro to the game, cept the parts where hadvar talks, he has an accent that not only randomly changes but has these sort of blurggghhhh moments where it sounds like some one shoved a [censored] in his mouth.

like when he says we will make sure your remains are sent wherever hes like

"we wir make sure your rreaghrmairns ahre sent back to high rock traveler"

i mean hes a nice guy, and i like the empire better overall....but the voice
