Ranch

Post » Sat May 17, 2014 7:31 pm

Does anyone else like smothering their food in creamy ranch dressing?

I really like Kraft and Hidden Valley creamy ranch.

I usually saturate my fries, chicken, burgers, chips, etc. in ranch.

There's just something about salty fries and ranch dressing. Mmm

I like the creamier not too thick, not to drippy sorta ranch.

It goes with everything.

I've never had ranch dressing before. It looks sort of good.

I like some creamy dressings like Caesar and some (but not all) 1000 Island types, but Ranch...most of the time, no. Too much dillweed and parsley flavor in most. I like dill pickles, but strong dill flavor itself turns me off, which is why I like the more vinegary/garlicky pickles (Claussen vs. Del Monte Dill).

No with my lactose intolerance it's like a weaker version of kryptonite to me. Milk being the absolute worse.

Must make playing Pokemon hard, relying on only Butterfree to win the game. :frog:

Funny enough... I beat the originals with a Butterfree as one of my main and best pokemon. Hahahah. Jokes are funny.

I make ranch at work :disguise:

But, I am more of a blue cheese guy than ranch. I get my blue cheese fix from my mother because she has loved blue cheese all her life, the others are all about ranch (Except my dad, he was a thousand island guy).

Ranch is fine but you hardly get it over here. Not like in the states where they smother EVERYTHING in it...

I enjoy the flavor but I don't smother everything in it. If only people would sell it without the high fructose corn syrup injected in it. What's the freaking need of that!?

But yeah, more lately I use vinaigrettes for salads and marinades.

Is Ranch the same as Thousand Island dressing?

No, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thousand_Island_dressing in terms of taste and color. Personally, not a big fan of it :yuck:

I'll mostly get the packet stuff and make my own, well if you can call that "making your own" in this world of critical eliteness when it comes to cooking. Don't eat veggies though and mostly put the stuff on crutons. A bowl of Seasoned flavored crutons with ranch dressing on top that is served along side my "real" home made spaghetti sauce, none of that crap from the jar, and some garlic bread crusts is always delicious. Still not sure if I should be using spaghetti or vermancili pasta with it, but either one works.

Ranch is is big here in Ontario, at least from what I can tell. It seems to be the go to choice in these matters.

Yes. On a salad with ham/turkey, bacon pieces, lettuce, croutons, shredded cheese, and ranch. Mmmmm

Hey! I'll smother whatever I want in it!

Chicken nuggets, Hot Wings, baked mozzarella cheese sticks, hamburgers......etc.

I had it so much as a child, that I think the taste just sort of wore out. I only use it for chicken wings now.

Actually, we prefer to smother everything in ranch, then smother the ranch in ranch.

(But you're not wrong. I do love Ranch on a lot of things. Oh my god, bacon and ranch sandwiches are to die for. <3

I'll occasionally have it on a salad. It can also make bad pizza edible.

in the fabled words of homer "bring me my ranch dressing hose!"

i don't mind ranch dressing, but other than the occasional use for veggies and dip it's not one of my preferred dressings and tend only to eat it when no alternative is available. IMHO Goddess dressing from Trader Joe's is where it's at for salads... I also tend to go for thousand islands or make my own greek style vinagrette with oil, vinegar and fancy mustard :)

I know plenty of people that will put it on or dip anything and everything in it, but it was never a taste that grew on me. similar to my indifference to yellow mustard I just prefer other alternatives.

I don't eat a tremendous amount of it. Not a big salad eater. As far as for other things - I'll dip fried zucchini in it (to make the vegetable even more unhealthy), but that's like twice a year. As far as green salads go I like Caesar best. Buy yeah, Ranch has gone viral in North America. I'm old enough to actually remember when it first started back when I was a kid. Its not been around that long.
