Random Crash Leads to Startup Crash (More Details Than Most)

Post » Mon Apr 15, 2013 2:09 pm

Hello Crysis Community,

I have been looking around the internet for a solution, and there has been no clear and decisive resolution as far as I have been able to find. Basically what happens is I will be playing from anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours in one sitting and my screen just freezes and my cursor shows up. Using Windows 8 and dual monitors I am able to right-click the Taskbar and pull up the Task Manager window. With Task Manager up I can End Task Crysis 3 tree that contains crysis.exe and OrginEngine Error dialog box that I am not able get to.

After letting everything close down when I try reopening Crysis 3 it flickers to a black screen, and displays Application has stopped working everytime I try to reopen the game. The following is the details of the dialog box.

Code:

The only way that I am able to play Crysis 3 again after it crashing is by rebooting my whole system. Without changing my system to Clean Boot or anything like that I am able to play again for 'X' amount of time.

Things I have tried
  • Updating DirectX and Drivers - Both my DirectX and Drivers were up-to-date already.
  • Clean Boot - I haven't done an actual Clean Boot, but after rebooting my computer I am able to play Crysis 3. I don't find this to be a true fix as it is very inconvenient.
  • Add Exception to Windows Firewall - The exception was already added.
  • Change Compatibility Mode to Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and Run as Administrator - Tried both of these with no results to resolve this issue.
  • I've Re-Installed and Repaired the game with no results.

After trying all of the solutions that I could find online I looked at the logs after I get the Application has stopped dialog box, and compared it to the successful launch after a fresh reboot. Consistently I have noticed that it is crashing on the Network initialization stage. The following shows a full successful launch, and under will show the crashing launch.
