Random Crash

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I wanted to play Fallout 3 again. I bought it a few months ago for only 20 euros, which isn't much. Back then, I only had an integrated video card, on which it looked decently/good.

A few weeks after that, I bought an ATI HD4650. And that's where the problems began.

I am able to play all of my games, maxed out. So what might be causing this? I've read alot about chaning the FALLOUT.ini file, but I never understood most of it.

When I boot up Fallout 3, I can select everything in the main menu, load games, select a new game. But here is where it gets annoying; after it has loaded, I crash back to Windows. I never get to see any game footage.

Anyone here that can help me out?

UPDATE: Maby it's important to know that I have a dual core processor. I've set Windows to use both. I've read that you need to enable this in the FALLOUT.ini file... I don't know.

I run on Windows 7 Ultimate.

You may just need to replenish the .ini file so that it recognizes your new hardware config. Try deleting the .ini file in your My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 folder....it is the configuration file named FALLOUT. Delete it, then refire up the game so a new one gets generated...see if there are any improvements then.
