random Encounter WTF

Post » Sun May 17, 2009 12:13 am

did Bethseda told you guys that they did something with the random encouters in Fallout 2 of there Fallout trilogy disk, because its really starting to get me annoyed by it.

Fallout Trilogy - from San Fransico to Navarro: around 50 random encounters or more.

original Fallout 2 disk- the same place: 5 or 6 random encounters.

yeah its really that annoying.

Nope. The code is exactly the same, there should be no difference.

Now, keep in mind that there is a random number generator (RNG) involved, and that means that you could have run into one or two streaks of improbabilities. By it's very nature, it is random.

There are some perks you can take to reduce your random encounters, you might look into that.

What I'd like to know is if there is a way to make the generator hit all the random spots in the game in succession? Aka to take the randomness out. I'm sure the answer is no and its quite okay if there isn't a way. I mean I still replay the classic Fallout and Fallout 2 so finding a new encounter is always like the first surprise look on Christmas morning.

I'd have to say though my fav was in Fallout 2 when it shows the truth of how the water purification chip in Fallout 1 actually "given up the ghost". Whose idea was that one? It was pure genius 8-) Image
I told the Overseer of Vault 13 I'd give everything to save everyone, and so I did, I saved them all. Since then I've felt loneliness.

If you take high Luck, you have a much better chance of encountering the special encounters. There is a perk, too, but I'm failing my INT check at this time in the morning. Need coffee.
