Random events in this game never cease to amaze me...

So, just now, I fast traveled to Markarth. Understone Keep to be exact. And standing right in front of me, is a Draugr, which proceeded to SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME because I had turtle beaches on loud and I don't exactly always expect to see a Draugr as soon as i fast travel into a closed cell friendly city.

Anyway, it swung at a guard and then Janessa one shot it for me. Anybody have anything like this happen to them? Is there some sort of reason for it?
Not sure if random, but after Meeko and Derkeethus went missing near Azura's shrine, I fast-travelled to the same location, they spawned but also out of the blue I'm surrounded by several Draugrs, one a Deathlord IIRC. Seems Derkeethus and Meeko brought some "friends" with them.

Oh and the Wood Elf that helps you in the quest Diplomatic Immunity, I saw him pull a WWE wrestling move on a Thalmor Soldier. A full armored Thalmor Soldier.
That's funny.

I've seen a dragon being totally owned by the Khajiit caravan. One of the Khajiit women did a finishing move and jumped on the dragon's head and hit it with her knife.

I was about to start sniping at Halted Stream camp, when i noticed a Thamor group coming from the hills. The bandits saw a mudcrab or something and ran from their camp, right into the Thalmor's sight. A brief figth later, only the justiciar was left standing, that i shot from my vantage point. Funnily enough, she had an execution order for my character :lmao:

Saved me some arrows ^_^

Sometimes friendly animals spawn. I've seen non-hostile bears and non-hostile spiders, and I'm playing on the 360. At any rate, I'm just about the opposite. Random events in this game NEVER amaze me. At least not once you've seen them all, or are trying to trigger a certain one. If you leave Riften through the west gate, and follow the road up until the fork in the road somewhere near the mill, and then turn right and follow the road across the bridge, you'll pass six-or-seven random event spawn spots. However, on my last character, I ran that road dozens of times and kept running into the same events over and over. There aren't really any 'exciting' events after a while.

Yeah i slept in the inn in Ivarstead just the other day and was about to leave when I saw a live bear sleeping right in front of the door! I had to step around him to leave, luckily he didn't wake up.

After finishing up the thieves' quest line, I was trotting from Morthal, westward, and got stopped by the random roadside thief. I thought it would either be a fight or he'd just say "Oh, right, I saw you around the Flagon," as has happened a couple of other times. But, no. He said, "Oh, Nightingale, thank you! My luck has been running high recently," and he handed me 500 gold.

I was wearing the Nightingale armor, but I just stood there as he ran off, thinking, "Oh yeah, tribute! I'm gonna like this gig."

I had one yesterday where I'm still trying to work out what happened. I'm in Dawnstar when I hear a commotion on the sea front. People are running everywhere, guards are in alarm mode and running about weapons drawn. But I can't see who or what they are attacking. Certainly no signs of an animal, and dragon attacks aren't triggered yet. By the time I get over to the source of the fuss, all that is left is a dead imperial courier and a load of arrows in the gound all around. Whatever or whoever attacked him either got away, or fell through the ground. And such attacks never normally take place in civilization.

I don't know where it came from or why it was there, but there it was, walking down the road very close to Winterhold. It didn't even bother to attack, it was just walking and staring. And after I took the screenshot, I fumbled with the controls as the screen went temporarily black/dark (ENB shaders got turned on accidentally) and the the thing disappeared. I never found it again.

I see dead people...

I was walking in Windhelm calmly when suddenly I heard someone scream "DRAGOOON!!!". Since I was convinced that dragons couldn't appear within an city with city walls, I was quite shocked, and as I looked up into the skies I heard/felt (in the controller) that the dragon just flew right above me. I saw him as he flew to the west part of the city, and I saw that it was an elder dragon (which was a bit challenging for me at that level). At the same time, an other elder dragon appeared in the east, and started to attack the elves. I realized that if I were going to fight two dragons at once, I'd have to do it outside of the city since the dragons would probably harm the citizens. As I ran on the bridge I saw that the dragons didn't care about me and was still focusing on the city, so I called for air-support: Odahviing. Odahviing quickly came to the battlefield, and started to fight the other dragons in midair. I used dragonrend on one of the dragons, and two guards ran to aid me. As we where fighting the dragon, the other dragon landed next to us, and I quickly ran to slay the dragon that just landed. The guards died and Odahviin retreated, but I was being able to finish the fight and devour the souls of the dragons.

And that's the story of the most epic dragon battle I've experienced.

I was in Riften and suddenly I hear Mjoll start screaming, and look over to see the Riften guards pulling out their hammers at an imperial courier that somehow got into the city.
I chuckled as they pounded him into mush.

I've had Aerin (Mjoll's stalker) somehow die inbetween visits to Riften...and no, I ididn't kill him nor cast anything to make npc's go berserk at him.I only noticed he was missing when I spotted Mjoll alone leaning against a railing, checked the Hall of the Dead and found his belongings in a coffin.Any ideas on what killed him?

Fast travel does seem to bring some interesting encounters. I always seem to get Necromancers following me into towns, they act all normal in town, then outside, they turn if I talk to them, only to get crushed or decapitated by my great sword. Did save and attack one in town once, guards didnt seem bothered.

Also I'm sure most that advanced in the main quest saw this, will spoiler it anyway.

Spoiler
On the way to Sky haven temple, meeting the blades there, I realised on my 3rd char that I forgot it was next to a busy Forsworn camp I avoided at lower levels. On arriving with Aela in tow, not only did EVERY Forsworn and a Hagraven decide to aggro on the blades, but a dragon popped by to join in. So while im tearing through Forsworn at the bottom, the dragon is at the top mowing down the Hagraven and a few Forsworn, then we met at the top and battled. I am sure this is scripted to a degree, but epic none the less.

And you can never go wrong with Elder dragon vs Giant and two Mamoths.

The most random thing thats ever happened to me was on my first character, 30 minutes into the game on the release night. 100 feet out of riverwood i got owned by a thalmor patrol. It was an amazing death to witness so soon into the game.

I had that happened to me after I passed 30th level, and had no companion. I just received a big spike of ice in my back and fell down the cliff, it was totally a wtf moment. Don't have the fast travel glitch though, since I don't fast travel.

One time there was this person that asked me to help out with cleaning or something. I agreed and he told me to follow him around to the back of his house. when he rounded the corner a Frost Troll introduced his fist to the man's face in a quick one-shot kill. I then proceeded to attack him when a dragon comes out of nowhere and then kinda like grabs the troll and throws him across the yard. Well then my horse comes out of nowhere, and being the [censored] he is, commences to attack the dragon. well, after a dragon soul and 1000 gold later, I had another horse. :drag:  :drag:

This just happened to me:
So I'm near the end of BLOOD ON THE ICE and I'm waiting on the stone quarter of Windhelm and Arivanya appears with text on the screen saying COMPLETED: RESCUE MISSION not so strange because I had a random quest for the companions I was supposed to rescue her from bandits or something.
!!SPOILER!!
Then she is attacked by the butcher, I intervene saving her. Ok still not so strange I know bear with me.
After completing my work in windhelm, heading back to the stables I pass her on the bridge and she says "horses all day, do you have any idea how boring horses are?" WTH? You were just attacked and kidnapped!
So I continued to the stables where a BLOODDRAGON swoops down and attacks I use dragonwrend to call it down and to my surprise 2 horses from the stable lead by my horse run over and start attacking the dragon and i get a killcam jumping on its head!

Yeah I totaly get what she means horses ARE boring...

As I was approaching the gates of Winhelm, I found Arivanya's cold, dead corpse against the city gates. The guards are no longer there (I use the Deadly Dragons mod, and an Ancient Storm Dragon had wiped out everything there previously, by casting Storm Call... yeah, it's a nasty Dragon... and nothing has respawned at all, it's creepy). This was after I'd done the Blood on the Ice quest, and the Butcher was in custody (or maybe not). Anyway, next time I visited Windhelm, there she was, complaining about horses.

I think maybe the Dragons mod broke something :brokencomputer:

Forgot to mention, I got a key to the Windhelm Stables from her cold, dead fingers...

My followers vanished and got locked in The Chill without me today o_O I had no bounty and they weren't ordered to do anything illegal. I have no idea how they managed to get arrested all by themselves.
