[Relz] Random Missions

Post » Mon Jan 03, 2011 6:06 am

I got an idea. How about Tribunal Temple missions? Like:

- Searching for heretics
- Curing people from diseases\curses
- Doing some pilgrimages
etc...

- Curing people from diseases\curses

That sounds like a good mission type for the Imperial Cult actually.

Temple has those quests too, if I recall correctly.

@Cosmar and Kalamestari_69

Both have good ideas. I'm not sure that I can make some of the Cosmar's though :)

I have made some fixes, removing remaining bug fix messages. I'm not sure, if previous version I uploaded even works :P
And there seems to be a bug with "- Morag Tong Writ" topic, which I'm trying to fix before I upload current version.

And before I start Thieves Guild part I will expand this mod a little bit by adding caves and such to list of possible locations.

I'm uploading updated version right now, fixes bugs and removes remaining testing messages and makes asking for location of your target easier.

E: Uploaded, current version is 1.2

Fliggerty gave me his permission to use his MWSE Globals mod, so that I don't have to use CellChanged function.
Mod can now detect if player changes cell by using other means than normal doors.

Hi! Wow, just saw this the first time, randomness/repeatability is what I?ve loved about Daggerfall, wich I only started paying this, sorry, LAST year! Happy new year! :celebrate:
& I want endorse so many of the above suggestions, maybe especially random thieves quests, the smuggling being one of my tops cause it could be easily repeatable and it?s one of the things I allways found was missing in the vanilla, so much smuggling going on and your thief can?t really join in on the fun! It could be both thieves guild and independent/new smugglers asking for certain items, repeatable?

And yes, then the cure disease/heal people quests is what is really badly needed when it comes to what lacks in the original game, even though Bethesda actually made a stock "Healer" class. I never played a healer type char (after abandoning one at low levels) because there is really nothing to heal exept very few quests and your own companions, hardly counts as a "trade" for role play. So much so that even though I said I would like to personally see more thieves stuff, I think the healing part is what really needs a boost from just this type of random questing - after all a thief can just go around independently nicking stuff... :P
But I?m happy to see the thieves first!

Hope to see more of this, and take your time, don?t burn out and get us the goodies! ;)
Happy New Year to everyone!

Melchior Dahrk requested version that works with Starfires NPC Additions mod. Should be pretty simple to make it, so those of you who use this instead of MCA can have random writs soon.

I have made needed changes so the mod should work with Starfire's NPC additions, but before I release it I want to be sure it's not buggy and it really works. If somebody wants to give it a try I'd be grateful, playing through two or three writs should be enough. If you are interested send me a PM.

I'd really appreciate, if somebody tested this. It's not a horrible job :whistling:

Would love to help, as I am a NPCA user when I play, but still don't have things installed on my rig. If no one else steps to bat soon, though, I will go ahead and make an install quick just to test this out for you.

Slow and lazy, but wanted to check real quick, does it run off the MGE internal MWSE or should I grab the stand-alone for running the testing - either way, you can go ahead and pop it on over, too. I'll throw together a build to test this with.

I use MGE internal MWSE, but didn't use any commands that come with MGE so normal MWSE should be safe. I'll send that file to you now.

I got around making this to work with MCA 6.0, I'll just make sure it works and then upload it. I don't plan to release another fix after an hour ;)
Red Eye hasn't yet tested Starfire's MCA additions version, but will hopefully get some time to do so soon.

Yea, at the moment I have been made of fail, but I think I will actually finally have some free time this weekend to sit down, install the game, and run some detailed testing on the Starfire version. Sorry that I have been so slow on this, got slammed with the old RL right after agreeing to test for you, but a full test you shall get!

Again, sorry for being such a slow putz :(

No problem. Test when you have time and feel like it.

Danae offered to test Starfire's version, so hopefully it can be released soon.

I made a http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/custom_page.php?page=22 at GHF for Thieves Guild part. This doesn't mean that I'm starting it right now, but it's meant to gather my and other people's ideas and track the progress.

Danae tested the first Starfire's version beta and it had suprisingly few bugs, I sent him new version which should have those bugs fixed, but I haven't yet heard back from him. I hope that I get the thing ready as soon as possible.
