[Relz] Random Missions

Post » Mon Jan 03, 2011 8:05 am

I made a http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/custom_page.php?page=22 at GHF for Thieves Guild part. This doesn't mean that I'm starting it right now, but it's meant to gather my and other people's ideas and track the progress.

Danae tested the first Starfire's version beta and it had suprisingly few bugs, I sent him new version which should have those bugs fixed, but I haven't yet heard back from him. I hope that I get the thing ready as soon as possible.

I loaded a new game with the updated esp and all my favourite 200 mods or so and got no warnings at all and completed a couple of missions as well without problems.
Since then I decided to make a clean install of MW because I'm really itching to play a complete (more stable) game (I mean more than a 3 hour run-through to test all the features of Pegasus Estate even) so I won't make more testing with a heavily modded game for a while (my laptop has a light install for modding purposes only)

I'm very much looking forward to the Thieves Guild random missions. It will be the perfect mod to complete AA Thieves guild services.
It would be great if the difficulty of the stealing mission was based on the PC security level but even without that, I'd still play the mod ;)

Finally, I'm a girl, I have to remember to put Barbie pink all over my posts and used cute emoticons :3  :frog:

If there are no problems it's release time. I'll just update the readme.

Do you mean that player gets harder stealing missions when his security skill is higher?

Updated the http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/custom_page.php?page=22 with Gnomey's excellent ideas. I intend to start this in five weeks, maybe less.

Personally, I would think that Sneak is a more pertinant skill for thievery than Security, but both are rather important skills for the job, perhaps a balance of the two skills, rather than just based off of one...................just a thought.

Balancing between those two would maybe be the best solution. I'll have to think about it, or I'll just have same difficulty for all and trust that Morrowind's picpocketting and sneaking systems do good enough job.

Aha, my bad, I was indeed thinking of sneak for the pickpocket missons
While securuty is important for a thief in general I guess it won't be critical for the missions you're planning. Maybe a mission could involve unlocking a chest spawned somehwere?

Spawning a chest would be no problem, but determining it's position would be a nightmare. It's hard to get a place which would have no clipping or any other problems. That's why I didn't include it in the list, but if somebody comes up with a way to place them through a script which eliminates those problems (or is willing to help placing markers for placing them) I'll gladly include stealing from containers.
