So I thought, well, in "modern" shooters with teams, instead of picking up health and ammo you get it from teammate support classes. What if there are combat players that all try to kill each other like normal UT dm PLUS there are support players instead of pickup items. Support players would get their score from supplying players as much as possible, and combat players would get their score from killing other combat players BUT! AND THIS IS IMPORTANT! If a combat player kills a support player, they lose a point OR support players could be made invincible so they only focus on item-giving. forgot to mention that all the players are competing for highest score, but combat players losing score for killing supports and supports all competing against each other as well and supports having different WAYS to get score but still the END RESULT of a score would make for a VERY interesting dm indeed.
I wonder how the gameplay system for the support players would work? It would have to be as complex and varied as UT's weapons are. Would everyone just support the best combat player when possible?
How could this be used in BRINK since it has its support classes? In the end, it's just that support players are competing just as much as any dm player ever has, but their gameplay is different. How many different gameplay systems could you have in a free-for-all-style competition? How many all at once in the same place even? Very strange things.
