that you either have crossbows or throwing weapons or both. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see how someone could feasibly use 2 bows, one in each hand.
EDIT: Or did I read it wrong? It says
"This flexible platform opens up countless play styles – dual wielding, two-handed weapons, the classic sword and shield combo, ranged weapons, or even equipping two different spells."
I think the writer made a mistake. The GI article gives the impression bows are once again the focus, which makes sense with what has been revealed about archery (and no mention of anything else).
I believe they could have worked other ranged weapons the way they are working magic, like having different weapons cause different types of damage. Throwing knives or axes, instead of causing damage like a bow would, they could be used to slow down enemies, cause bleeding, or simply a way of inflicting a poison. In addition, throwing knives could be made difficult, like they are doing bows. For example, maybe the camera moves about, sort of simulating your aiming sight, and you have to play with that to adjust the throw.
Just an idea they may adopt later on. Personally, I doubt there will be anything other than bows. But what I read in GI is so promising, it seems archery is going to be unique, so I simply MUST incorporate archery to my first character (which I had thought to be a straight nordic sword and shield warrior).
