I decided to side with the NCR, and after deflecting Kimball from all assasination attempts, I expected to get ranger armor. BUT NO. I get a suicide mission and a prompt saying this is the final battle. (Not sure if it said it was the final battle.) When in the HELL do I get my freaking ranger armor?!

Yeah unfortunatly you've got to kill a ranger.

What you can do is pop a stealthboy, plant a live grenade or dynamite on a ranger, and immediately after it blows fast travel to another location and wait 24 hours before coming back. You can loot the body and won't get a reputation hit.

I got this tip from the wiki so I take no credit for it, it just worked for me.

Or you can console it (player.additem). Either way it works. My advice though is skip it. It looks great but, it DT is not as good as Power Armor. The T-51B gets more armor, health and you get rad resistance! I think the T-51B gives +25 Rad Resistance in total for both the helm and armor. That is only 15 less Rad Resistance than a Rad Suit! I sniped one out with the anit material rifle. All it told me was I was a smiling trouble maker (or something like that). Just make sure no one sees you take the armor.

This is what is kind of ironic about the game. In the legion, I had 4 or 5 fully repaired suits of the ranger combat armor in storage (and at least one of each other kind of NCR armor), but only 1 legion recruit armor. Now in the NCR, I have vexillarius armor and a Decanus helm (and hopefully Centurion soon!) coming out the wazoo, but basically no good NCR armor.

You kind of play your last bit of the game when you get all of the ranger armor you can hold. Gotta restart my game, redo everything, correct my mistakes... v_v
Edit: I already have the brotherhood armor and training. I have some good stuff, now I just wanna look cool. :disguise:

Another easy way to get Vet Ranger armor w/o losing NCR statis is go to Ranger Station Alpha (North of Boulder City). Once there, look for the cliff off to the side and find the area with the farthest drop. Next, locate a Vet Ranger and start pushing him/her towards that part of the cliff. You'll have to keep initiating conversation with them so that they won't try to walk away after they finish their random dialogue. Just keep walking them towards the cliff while spamming the action button till they fall off. Be careful not to get too close once they fall or you'll be joining them at the bottom.

yeah I got about 6 suits at the end game but it was end game so I can't use it till some dlc
comes out and I think I made a bad decision and now I'm starting over

There will be NO DLC like Broken Steel. And might I add, many fallout fans will will say amen to that. I just wish I could keep my gear. =(

just wear legion armor and they will attack you and you can kill them with no rep or karma hit.
