Ha I have 2 Physics degrees, most of the numbers i worked with were only theoretical, really who needs to know the weight of the galaxy?

What's the weight of the galaxy?

If Resistance have rank tags then Security should have military ranks.

2 = rebel
3 = gureilla (sp?)

I think a numerical system will do just fine. I know I for one cant be bothered remembering rank names, and never do.

I know, I just meant even more differentiating, hence my saying "...faction feel that much more different..." instead of "...would make them feel different."

And I meant from a scoreboard perspective - seeing different symbols for numbers for each faction would make them feel more different than simple red and blue backgrounds. Mainly in terms of viewing the scoreboard that is.
