RantsQuestions

So I'm pretty new to the elder scrolls series. I was introduced with Skyrim, and I was in love at first sight basically. So I decided to get 3 and 4. I was playing Morrowind, created my character, explored a bit and got the feel and I was really excited and it seemed really fun. Then I found a cave and decided to try combat. That's when I just was kind of floored. I swing my weapon like a madman but the sword isnt even causing damage most of the time. It's like i'm missing, but it'll hit some time. It's like maybe a 1 in 10 chance. Am I doing something wrong? I was really psyched for this game, but now I'm utterly disappointed. Is this how the combat is SUPPOSED to be? If so I consider my money wasted. I am more than willing to give it another chance if you guys can offer some sort of advice.

Thanks for reading and any help would be awesome.

Ok, a couple things - fatigue is the most important factor in this game, especially at low levels. If your fatigue bar is low you're not going to do a single thing successfully, so take your time, don't always run, or else rest often to restore it. Second, you really want to make sure you're using a weapon you're skilled in. By the end of character creation your main offensive skill should be at least 40. I hope you paid attention to what kind of weapon you bought, as well. Long blade vs. short blade matters a ton.

Don't give up on the game yet. You'll hit your stride around level five, and it only gets better (and surprisingly easier) after that.
