When I entered dead money it told raul has returned to his shack. Now he is nowhere to be found and I even waited several days and checked the shack. Has this happened to others? Does there exist some command line or something how I could get him back to the shack?

Check the lucky 38. Sometimes they go there.

Waiting a few game-hours helps sometimes, I've lost him a couple of times too (though before Dead Money).
If you're on PC and curious where he's hanging out, open up the console and type:

player.placeatme 000e60ef or player.placeatme 000e6105

Not sure which of the two you need, one is his base ID and the other the ref ID, one of them should work.
If not, type:

prid 000e60ef or prid 000e6105
moveto player

This should place Raul near you.

Thanks the first code worked but raul was somehow bugged so I send him to lucky 38 and he got his gear back and all lol
