Rayeks Mini Hideout - Player Home

-Xiomberg

Yeah, optional plugin. Once I feel the hideout is done...I'd like to add new location and DLC optional plugins.

-Ashya

Yeah, Mr. Richardson was stinkin rich...all I need now is a health food diet plan and massage table/robot masseuse. :lmao: definitely considering a separate bathroom.

-Princess Stomper

Thank you very much...you put a grin on my face :D

Another idea:

Finish fencing in the area behind the hideout and have a working, lockable gate near the hideout entrance. Why? The RobCo Certified perk. I've got a http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/Bane_v2/Games/Fallout%203/ScreenShot2.jpg* wandering around Springvale and they seem to be wandering further and further away from the hideout. If I could have them follow me into the fenced in area, tell them to wait and then lock the gate behind me when I leave that would keep them from wandering off.

To be honest I don't know if they'll actually wander off to the point where I couldn't find them, but I'd rather not find out! ;)

The perk is popular with nearly 33,000 downloads. Players not using the perk could roleplay uses for the area too. A secure place to store whatever would always be welcome in a place like the Wasteland.

* Four Sentry Bots and three Mister Gutsys. Can you spot them all?

When are we getting the next release? Can't wait for the universal bobble script, my display is looking empty.

Great work on the mod, the attention to detail is superb, and I use it as my housing.

Just to toss out some thoughts; I love the compact nature of the house and the fact that I can get in and out quick after dumping gear, but what about a sub-level with just some of the details that would round out the atmosphere? Such as a reactor and computer core and other things you'd expect in a self-sustaining shelter.

Also, although it's tight already, anyway to shoehorn some shelves into the bedroom? I like to display things, haha.

Thanks again for the hard work and get the new version up on nexus soon! :D

This is the first mod I have installed into my Fallout 3, a good way to start too. I am not new to modding but I am primarily a GTASA modder and have decided to try out Fallout mods as I like the game's atmosphere.
Initially I had minor troubles but it was all covered in the read me and I soon sorted it out.
I found this to be good quality mod with a helpful read-me, I couldn't ask more for a mod.
I currently now have Fellout, Greenworld, Kelsey companion and I am now building a town centred around this hideout with the Real-time Settler mod.
The tent hides my lush pad from the villagers, wouldn't want a revolt going on.

My only suggestion would to be change the tool cabinet for one marked as Misc or Items, the tools and materials can just be put in the toolbox on the desk for quicker use anyway.
On thing I did notice is that when I have Kelsey in chill out mode, if she stops and looks at the mannequin It flags up the option to dress it even when I am in another room.

Hey Rayek,

Now that im back from watkins glen (damn those indy cars are fun to watch) I stated playing around with your house again. The creepy manniquin decided to load in the middle of the hallway. At first I thought I messed up the navmesh, turns out I did mess it up a bit but I fixed it. Satan the manniquin still spawns in the middle of the room. This time around I didnt touch the manniquin but I must have botherd it somehow. All I did was cut off the bathroom section and add a hallway and stairs leading to a small armory type area. I cant solve the problem and I thought you may have incounterd the same issue while putting it in.

Thanks again Rayek,

It's a nice little vault, perfect size for my character, but I've had to disable it due to a couple of issues, but the first is likely my system. It's very laggy inside for me and not very bright. Are those blue lights supposed to throw out much light?

Also the katana, that I pulled from the display case, http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/715/screenshot980.jpg. Not constant, just now and then. I've got another mod that adds custom swords and that doesn't have the flickering.

A question. Sort of. I ordered my companion to wait around in there, to sandbox, while I went and did other things. I watched him for a while and he just went to stand in the pool. Later when I came back he was standing in front of the bobblehead display doing some idle animation. The display was empty (they're all in Megaton) and it was as if he wasn't impressed at that <_<
I don't know much about making things companion-friendly, but was wondering if something was added for them to stand in certain spots, do certain idle animations? Or maybe what he was doing was just random and something other NPC's do all the time while sandboxed? I haven't attempted to make my own house yet, so have no idea on things like that.

Anyway, I'll leave the mod for my newer characters :)

Busy day...delayed but responses below

Bane
Interesting idea...sorry but I had to laugh at robots just wandering all over Springvale. :lmao: I'm jotting this idea down as my focus is currently on interior for now...I do feel I'm not down with the outside...but not sure.

Aean
Thank you very much :)

I'm glad you asked about the next version...with the help of some super cool people (Wyked and 1337s0u1) it will probably be my biggest update. I can't say when but I would guess no later then end of the upcoming weekend.

What it will include is:

-Universal Bobble Script (DONE)
-4 Light switches for different areas of the house (DONE)
-Safes that relock after use (DONE)
-Auto shutting doors as you leave the hideout (triggered as you reach the ladder) (DONE)
-2 additional subtle Storage containers (DONE)
-Area effect Rad Removal in the Jacuzzi (thanks 1337s0u1!) (DONE)
-Ammo/Explosives sorter (DONE)
-Famale Mannequin version (DONE)
-Hidden Mystery Room (work in progress)

Big thanks to Wyked for walking me through, and pretty much doing the scripts for Lights/relocking safes/sorter.

That's another request for shelves as well...may have to jimmy them in there.

Really appreciate you following the mod and anticipating the next release. Makes me work harder to get it done.

Liquidpinky
Thank you very much, really appreciate it. :)

Please keep me posted or point me to your thread as your mod sounds very cool.

As for your suggestion...in this case your wish is my command. The Tools locker is being changed to Misc or Junk haven't decided which. It also was suggested I change the Workbench one to Components and leave Tools as is? Open to suggestion here...but if there are none an executive decision will be made. :P

Appreciate the feedback.

Rydain
Welcome back...

WARNING! :nuke: You have entered dangerous territory that could drive you nuts!

Yes, my initial problem with the mannequin was it was warping all over the place...I finally got it to stay...and it looks to be very dependant on navmeshing...make sure it is navmeshed underneath it and it connects correctly. That should solve the problem...let me know.

MystykStar
First off thank you for checking the place out...appreciate it.

It unfortunately has been giving some systems some lag....alot of detail and features have been packed into one little space. I am trying to find solutions to ease this and am also looking at a performance version once I've finished additions. I'm already taking steps to reduce any further lag by making other additions through cells. Sorry about the lag :(

As far as the Katana flickering...not sure why and have not heard reports nor seen reports on necKros original mod. Do you have both his Katana mod and my mod enabled at the same time...maybe a slight incompatibility?

The hideout includes the following companion idle/sit features:

-Sit on Workbench stool
-Sit in any of the Jacuzzi seats
-Sit on the toilet
-Sleep in bed
-Sit in Main/Bed area on the corner of the carpet
-Drink near fridge
-Look and idle at Bobble Display
-Look and idle at Aquarium
-Kneel at Katana Shrine
-Push-ups out near ladder
-Idle and wait near ladder
-Lean on right bathroom wall
-Lean on left bathroom wall
-Idle in center of Main/Bed area in middle of carpet

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the feedback and I really am sorry about the framerate.

I use HDR and it's always brilliant white for me. It was the same for the full Mannequins mod as well. I tried my own textures but the white still overrode it  So I uninstalled the whole thing (mannequins, that is). In Oblivion they were marble and wood textures, although I changed those to whatever the current body mod I was using at the time.

Cool :goodjob: I thought it may've just been part of my companion's personality. Although the only reason I recruited him was because he was bugged after I'd finished a quest and he had no personality.

I'm going to leave it activated just to watch him do any of those idles. I've not seen those features added to other house mods yet so it's all new and interesting for me :)

Thanks! Makes all the crazy problems I had with it worth it when I hear feedback like that. :D AndyW did a great job making them.

MystykStar
Sorry to hear about the mannequin textures showing up bright white. Should be a softer white with almost a stone like texture...

Hope you like the idle markers, etc. I usually bring one companion down to test them out...but tried 4 the other day and it was kind of cool to watch all the them happening. :)

At one point they were all in the hot tub which cracked me up for some reason.

I am starting to believe that NPC's are so fascinated by 'clean' water, that they are just drawn to it. They have never seen a hot tub or a toilet that is clean, so it is almost like a paradise to them :D I should stick the toilet from my mod in the center of Megaton just to watch the NPC's fight to sit on it

No, she didn't do it, I can't remember what the issue is, but it happened a few times with some oblivion made mods. The object would look fine, but once in awhile there would be a flash of white boxes.

...may I ask what video card you are using?

Will do a little research :read: and see if I can find out a known fix or adjusted video card setting that fixes it.

It's an ATI Radeon X1600XT 256MB - so it says on the box. I don't know much about video cards. My game dealer helped me pick it out :embarrass:

Well unfortunately I found several people listing they were having problems as well (mostly with Oblivion) but no solutions other then turning off Anti Aliasing and other standard information.

That being said...if you haven't already make sure you have the latest drivers and play with settings....sorry couldn't be of more help. :(

Hi there.
I like this mod alot, but it causes mysterious problems. When in the hideoout, and trying to save, i ctd, also when i climb the ladder back to the Wastes (which also tries to save the game) i crash to D.

So basically im stuck there, the only way to get out is by uninstaling it. Your F03edit hint, didnt work for me, any sugestions?

Thanks. :D Glad you like it.

Just to clarify...you did the MasterUpdate part of FO3Edit? (instructions below)

1. Download FO3Edit
2. Copy the FO3Edit.exe to desktop
3. Rename to F03MasterUpdate
4. Open up FOMM (Fallout Mod Manager) and check a mod
5. Click the FO3MasterUpdate.exe while FOMM is still open and wait for it to say finished.
6. Launch Fallout 3 through FOMM.

You do not need to install the esp that comes with FO3Edit. And you will need to do this each time you install a new mod.

If that doesn't do it...latest drivers, load order may do it...but your symptoms sound classic to what FO3Edit fixes...

Can you let me know what other mods you are using? Could be a conflict.

Thanks.
