Reaching Heaven by Violence OOC & Sign-up

Yeah, that was my bad. I got overzealous about posting and carried the timeline about 5 to 6 hours into the future. I talked with Antisanta about pulling it and reposting it later, but decided to let it stay since I didn't develop any story or significant events in any way. Kaivel has been separated from the group and has no involvement in whatever is posted about the events between the sinking (around midnight-ish?) and about 5 am. I won't be posting again until all the timelines "catch up", as it were, so I just get to be a fascinated and enthralled reader for a little while. :)

City. Mhund, your view on Suran is spot on. I hope that together we can flesh it out the way it's intended to be! Not to put a burden on your shoulders or anything.

Of course, one city I forgot to mention that has obvious influences on Suran would be Las Vegas! Derp!

I'm actually going to say that I should not have ultimate say over whether or not the post in question should be pulled or not. It's up to you guys, and of course, Kaivel.

My personal opinion on the matter is this - I believe that while, as Kaivel said, no significant developments have occurred between reaching shore and Kaivel waking up, making it easily feasible for others to post and "fill in the gaps," I also agree with Mhund, that it has the potential to confuse the timeline.

So, with that having been said, that potential for confusion alone sways me towards the post being pulled and put up later.

Is that clear?

Thoughts?

I've not really much preference this tim, just would like to avoid it next time. I say wait on Prizrak as he may be able to do his reply in the past tense, waking up in the morning Remembering the last things spoken about.

I've a few other notes/plans for Suran but i'll keep those under my hat for now. Hehe.

Alright, my new post from Resdayn is finally up. I hope it all makes sense, as I was rather sleep-deprived and inebriated at time of posting. Please let me know if it is nonsense.

A couple things of note:

- at the end of my post, it is "technically" the 19th of Sun's Dusk, as the sun is barely peaking. This hopefully allows for both Kaivel, and others to post what happened that night and that morning. Again, let me know if you have concerns with this.

- Those "armed to the teeth" fellows? Yeah, those are guards of "The House." They would be coming to disperse what's left of The Serpent's Wake crowd so they can begin picking the wreckage clean. So anyone who would have stayed behind (looking at you Manu and Kajrue) please PM me so we can work out some details for them.

- When Resdayn says "as far as I could tell, my companions had cleared out," I mean exactly that. As far as Resdayn knows, everyone is gone from the docks. That doesn't mean someone isn't still around... not to give any names, but I'm especially talking about: OVAN, UGLIUS, MHUND, and maybe, just maybe... KAIVEL! Maybe one of you is still around to see what Resdayn is up to, and to confront him. Utilize it if you want!

Anyways, exhaustion and drunkenness have taken me, so please PM me or post some stuff here if you have concerns. Either myself or Kaivel will hopefully be able to address it in a timely manner. Either way, I love you all and I'll talk to you soon!

- <3 Anti

I have reposted my post from yesterday (or Friday?) and have made a few changes to the end. I borrowed some descriptions of Suran from Anti and my character has joined him at the end of the wharf. Elliott (josephb94) is still in The Glowing Netch Cornerclub (as far as my character knows), but I know than IRL he's working on finals/exams/what-not for Uni, so I'm intending this as a way to give him time to post when he can.

As a repeat of Anti's post, the rest of you who's characters are still at the docks just after the sinking will need to determine what to do. The guards of "The House" will be coming to claim "their" salvage and I imagine they don't take kindly to the rightful owners being around to put up a fuss.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to whatever you guys come up with because it's always hilarious or insane (or both) but I like it either way! Keep up the great work!

working on a post, expect it in about 4 hours s (it's close to finished but I heave to leave for work)

(basically, Elissandre came back form her dive just in time for the guard's arrival and will use illusion magic to calm and charm them into leaving until the next midday - or their bosses kick them back to the fray)

Post completed and lengthened a bit to the morning.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that these next few days are going to be pretty chaotic for me, I'm going into a new job and planning for a road trip, so don't be surprised if I don't get a post up for a little while. Sorry! Real life is happening a lot right now. :P

ANYWAYS, even though I might not be getting a post up soon, or even be online, I will keep in touch with Kaivel and see if she would be willing to push the story onward. And I'll see about getting a nice long post up for you all to work with, but I wouldn't expect it to be up until much later tonight.

As always, thank you all for your continual excellence! I LOVE YOUR FACES!! (and your writing)

Just wanted to get a roll call- see how everybody was doing. Make sure the motivation and creativity stays with us. So make sure to play some Elder Scrolls, do research on your characters, and maybe even write little side stories with them. Whatever keeps your mind with it. :D

I'm ready to go just waiting for everything else to get moving. Although I do admit that I'm starting to lose interest, but its most likely due to the downtime in between the posts.

Lurking around and ready to keep going here - I'd expect things will get a bit more lively once Antisanta's schedule lightens a bit (and the two trailers get linked the rest of the bunch)

I'm waiting for anti to get back really, my nezt post is kinda dependant on a scene we're working on. Have to admit, my interest is waining but that's likely due being stuck in a past tense/timeline issue.

Never fear! The RP isn't dead, it's just taking a nap right now. Again, I apologize for my recent absence. Now that I'm done with physical therapy, I'm back on full duty work... which means I'm working fifty hours a week right now. Just bear with me, things will even out soon (once I get used to working my ass off again).

In other news, I'm going to start working on a mega post now!

EDIT: So, the post is up... but not nearly as "mega" as I'd hoped for. I'm not sure if it's any good either. These ten hour days have me disoriented lately, so hopefully the quality and precision is satisfactory. If not, please let me know! But for now, I must retire, and get my much needed three and a half hours of sleep before another nightmarish day at work. :P

Ta-ta for now everyone! I'll really crack-out on the RP this weekend to make up for lost time. :)

And presumably a lively barrom brawl scene if I'm reading the premises right... Not exactly Elissandre's favorite game, though she's got caught in her share of them. Basically she's going to play support, staying quiet in a corner under the cover of a 'nothing worth hitting here' sort of spell - through by projectile rather than direct action, and possibly the ood short-lived paralysis, blinding and similar spells to give her side an edge.

So you have perrmission to have her doing a little something to help your characters along those lines to improve the action's flow.

I would love to continue the RP, but for some reason the Bethesda forums are broken everytime I try to go on them.

They look like this:

I've no idea why, if anyone knows what's up, that's good.

Excellent Manu! Here shortly (after I shower) I'll be corresponding with Mhund to work a few things out in regards to the fight about to ensue. We'll keep that in mind.

Well, I can certainly say I would love to have you in the RP for the foreseeable future! Definitely let one of the forum mods know, as they may have more knowledge on that problem. Or you can PM me and we can try to work through it together. ;)

Well, no idea what the issue was, but it was resolved some how. I'm assuming a forum mod saw my post and was able to fix it or something, so I'm back in the RP again.

Good news!

Also, I just finally was freed up enough to read the recent posts. Josephb, it's good to have you back sir! Elliot is easily the most roguish devil in the group, which I love. Really enjoying his development, and the fact that you integrated Zara was very entertaining. Looking forward to more!

Manu, I also enjoyed your latest post quite a lot. You certainly know the right way to incorporate spell casting in an RP setting, and Elissandre's diversity and innovation makes for an interesting read, and of course, a vital contribution to the party. I do have one concern, albeit very petty. The "worst" rooms in The Glowing Netch would be crappy for sure, but far from roach infested. Imagine a plain room, likely with no windows ore maybe one window if you're in an outer room, just big enough to fit one crappy, probably lumpy bed, maybe a dresser or a chest at the foot of the bed if you're lucky, and a bed-side table with a candle. That would be The Netch's crappiest rooms, which they wouldn't have a ton of since they aren't actually a complete dive. The Netch is one of the classier joints among the working class taverns, if that makes sense.

That having been said, I'm sure that Elissandre, being highborn and what not, could understandably perceive this place as a dump, so it's not a huge concern if that was your intent.

Finally, I'd just like to say that I'm going to give everyone until probably early afternoon to post if they want to before I break into full on fight scene shenanigans. I'm sort of expecting it to be sort of like an "action version" of The Serpent's Wake meal time scenes, where everyone has their own things going on. Should be pretty interesting.

If anyone has ideas or wants to coordinate with me, or others on how to play this scene out, let me/us know! :)

I already know that Oaken-Hull and Halfhound will be tossing bodies left and right, meanwhile Resdayn will likely be "battle-dancing," skirting around larger opponents and dodging, with the occasional flurry of blows to his assailants. So feel free to utilize that in your respective pieces! ;)

I intended her reflexion to be sarcasm rather than fact (and I agree it may not be evident in written form), basically 'those rooms look lousy enough to be sold with such an argument'

The sort of rooms you describe combined with a lot of passage and short term occupation (I wouldn't be surprised if the Glowing Netch had hourly rates for it's rooms...) means a good chance for unwanted bedmates. Though of course the owners are probably aware of it and can have a friendly mage or alchemist dropping in to get rid of whatever company the customers may have left behind.

Considering that Elissandre has been on the run for now about 14 years, she's seen enough dumps to be quite familiar with them - her upper class past means she knows from experience that you can get way better.

A few things of concern that I wanted to touch on:

- You guys have the freedom to do what you want with the environment around you, but please do PM me before you do something drastic like start a massacre in the middle of a bar room brawl. You can't just decide that you are going to all the sudden start killing people. Talk about it with me first so we can decide if it's appropriate. In this situation I can still work the story around it, so I'll let it fly this once. If it becomes a habit though, posts might start disappearing.

- We need to make sure that the formatting for our posts works correctly. For instance, josephb's last post is all wonky, which would be fine if it didn't somehow break the forum censorship. Please double check your work to make sure everything looks right, and that things like this aren't happening. If they do happen, I can guarantee that posts will get deleted, people will get warnings or bans, and the RP itself might get shut down.

- Just so everyone knows, if the party wasn't getting arrested before, they definitely are now. :P

Thanks guys! I appreciate everything you do! :)

One positive point is that Galendor basically was out on his own the night before - we may be able to spin things for the guard along a 'this bloddhirsty maniac don't belongs to our party' line to limit the damage. But it sures brings in complications. But ti's porbably going to take a lot of brbes and fast talk (charm magic might buy some time but would probably cause even more problems later...)

I had the same problem on one psot as Eliiot's - I had to manually replace all the offendign speical characters but it worked fine.

You're okay. I know exactly how to deal with it. Manu is right, it's gonna take some bribes and what not to avoid outright execution to be honest. Buuuut... The House are very "reasonable." If they see that the party can be beneficial to their cause, then they can be persuaded to forget about a few slimy bar goers and instead put the party to work.

My biggest concern is how to townsfolk will react. But again, I want you guys to have a reasonable freedom of choice, so we'll just have to deal with those repercussions as they come. It'll all work out. Just make sure you get the all clear from me or Kaivel next time. ;)
