Reaching an ideal point of maximum popularityquest completio

Hello folks,

I have completed the game in every way on XBox 360 so now that I am playing on PC (no achievements) I am in no hurry to finish the story or take sides. Problem is, I got a bit overzealous when completing NCR missions and now have the legion after me. Fortunately I have a save game with every prior main-story quest and just about every side mission completed, and in this save game I am yet to enter The Tops or accept Mr House's invitation, and it's only a couple of hours older than where I stopped.

Prior to turning the legion against me, I had made pretty good progress for all factions (except Powder Gangers, Fiends and Vipers). I think I had managed to secretly inform the Khans of the legion's real intentions (Independent of the NCR quest), I stealthily completed a few quests against the Legion for the NCR, as well as completing a couple of missions for Caesar. I also managed to side the Boomers with The NCR and get the Kings and NCR to call a truce without having the legion turn on me. My theory was that the point where I pushed it too far with the Legion was when I informed Colonel Moore that I had already convinced the Khans to break ties with the Legion OR PERHAPS the mission after where I tell her that I had already dealt with the Olmertas, although I cannot be sure.

I wonder if anybody else has sought to achieve a point in the game where they've completed the maxumim numer of quests possible while keeping all major factions happy with you. If so, I would appreciate any ideas how you went about it so I can use my old save game to reach this point.

Cheers!

Once you get past a certain point in the main quest for any faction - apart from Legion - Beware the Wrath of Caesar! will start. If you do one more main quest then your reputation with the Legion will heavily suffer and I think they attack you on sight IIRC. So basically, watch for when this quest starts and don't do any more on the main quest after that point - from what I can tell from the wikia if you're following the NCR it starts when you deal with the Great Khans for the NCR and presumably is failed when you deal with the Omertas.
