Most players on the PTS seem to be hitting level 50 or rank 1 in 96-144 hours, what do you guys think about this? Do you feel like it is a reasonable time to reach level cap or should it be harder/easier

IMO, it's relatively short in comparison to other MMO's.
From my personal experience, it went rather fast.
Then I strongly suggest to change the topic title.
I think it's sad and people should play right through the content. People should be taking things slowly and playing for fun. I'm a completionist and I'll be playing through everything and not rushing the game.
I think it is a reasonable time because I don't think that leveling should be the focus of a MMO. There are plenty of stuff to do after reaching lvl 50. Besides, that means that leveling alts will be quick and as someone that likes to have a bunch of characters, I'm fine with it.
Didn't ZOS quote 120-150 hours to reach cap? Seems about right. There will always be those wanting to level faster and find ways. That is just to level cap and then the 50+/50++ content begins.
In vanilla WoW it took me ~ 14 days /played on my first guy. Additional characters took 6-7 days.
With 50+ content in other factions, which I still haven't heard much on how that will play out, seems like it is relatively the same, although likely still shorter.
Edit: So shorter time leveling more time questing at level 50 possibly?
This means nothing as long as we don't know how much content they've skipped. If none of it was skipped i'd say make it harder.
so lets say i've reached level cap. Now what's left? hmm, perhaps trying to get all the skill trees i want to max.... oops, there goes another year....
There was almost an identical thread today. Is that title a flame bait or a way to discourage people?
"50" isn't really the lvl cap though. After that there is 50+ and 50++ and VR1-VR10.
Well..there are 10 ranks after lvl50...so, thats more. And considering they still have 2/3's of the map to quest in & explore.....you could assume they are only half way through the PVE part of the game.
And they may have rushed the game without reading & absorbing the story......
Reaching level50 in that time frame really doesn;t explain much about the length or longevity of the game.
At a glance your title suggest that it's possible to be level 50 in 4 to 6 days. Another thread doing the same (although it contained a "locust" rant) went down like a B-17 over Germany in 44. I suggest to change days to hours .)
Yes people really need to clue in to the fact that the VAST MAJORITY of players out there do not play more than 3-5 hours a day because they have what some people call "lives".
If you play far more than this you are hardcoe and it is a life choice at that point because you choose to throw the rest of you life away. YOU ARE NOT THE NORM!
Again hitting level 50 does not mean the content have ended and you finished the game. After level 50 there are still the other territories to explore, dungeons and several other things to do. Hitting 50 means you already got all the points you have on your stats and you hit "max" gear level, still a long way to go to legendary gear.
I doubt that most players that got 50 on the beta had time to properly explore, do quests and even level the crafting. Anyway getting to 50 (base level of most mmos out there) is something quite easy, only problem about it is that some games like to have a grind sink or quest sink for the next few levels, that somewhat make them lame. I do hate doing a big quest for a cheap reward and low XP.
I am afraid, when you have early access, it will take that long to just login
That's how it is in all mmos, some people will hit level 50 the first day, while others will never hit the level cap
And those who hit the level cap fast will brag about it, making it appear as if everyone has reached lvl 50 in only a couple of days, when the reality is that most people are nowhere near that
Said it better than I could. Hours to 50 is misleading, since TESO already has post 50 content at launch.
It looks like they are still adjusting the experience numbers anyway (from patch notes), but it would be interesting to see how long it is taking for rank 10 veteran.
The only thing people *should* be doing is what they like. I'm probably in the middle range for speed through games, but I don't care if people race to max level and I don't care if they stop to smell the flowers every 5 minutes. Different strokes for different folks and all that.
