Reactivation after changing videocard

Post » Fri Jun 17, 2011 10:59 am

Is it normal that i get an activation screen after i have changed my videocard in my PC???

Crysis 2 broke my videocard a few days ago. I was playing online and all of a sudden the screen got stuck and got some strange blue blurry lines. After that i replaced the videocard for another one i got the message to activate crysis 2.

Does crysis work with 5 activates? or didnt i loose a activation with this nonsense? I wonder why the hell i need to reactivate the game when i upgrade my system...

this means crytek is sending hash data to their servers... my private info...

The activation process looks at hardware to establish whether or not it is running on seperate systems so yeah it's common that changing something can use an activation. You can check the status of your activation codes by going into your Crysis 2/Bin 32 folder - in there is an application called activation. Run it and it will tell you how many activations you have.

So if i change my hardware 5 times, im not being able to play crysis 2 anymore??? this is insane! A freaking bought this game!

I upgrade hardware on regular base it cant be true that in a few months i need to buy another copy of crysis 2 because i activated to much...

A new mainboard, ok! but when i change only my graphics card... common.. wtf is this! the only people who are $hitted on again by crytek are the fair buyers... again

its crysis 1 all over again... wich at the end was being patched because of all the complaints of people that lost all their activations.

One thing im sure about... im downloading a crack when it comes to this! im not gonna spend another 39 euro becausse crytek has this **** system

Dry your eyes mate. Just put the game in the bin, it's not worth stressing yourself and posting here is only gonna make it worse. Or put the game on eBay and buy yourself a copy of Minecraft.

Ok bai then.

Now you could have asked that before bawling and sobbing, like a 5 year old girl on her 1st day at Nursery, but now I'm not really inclined to answer your question - work it out for yourself.

I am not sure , maybe if you de-authorize the license before you do some hardware upgrades can do the trick . I am just guessing

Jac75 you are a sad person.

Offcourse you can follow this:

eauthorizing/Authorizing a Machine

When the title is uninstalled, the machine will automatically be deauthorized so that the CD-key can be used again (5 uses at a time maximum). If forcing an uninstall, or manually deleting the title, it's possible to deauthorize a machine through the Start menu or the following method:

You must be connected to the Internet in order to deauthorize a machine.
Navigate to the 'bin32' folder in the game installation path.
Win XP/32 bit OS - 'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crysis 2\bin 32\'
A 64 bit OS will point to 'Program Files (X86)'
Steam - 'C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\crysis 2\bin 32\'
A 64 bit OS will point to 'Program Files (X86)'
Run the 'activation.exe' program.
Press the 'Deauhtorize this license' button.
A message reading 'Deauthorization successful!' will be displayed.
To confirm the key has been removed, the 'activation.exe' program can run again. If it asks for a serial key than the machine is no longer authorized and the title won't boot.
A machine can be authorised using the same method. If the title has already been uninstalled and the client has a disk, they can run the 'activation.exe' file from there instead of reinstalling. The file path remains the same on disc.

Machines can also be deauthorized through the 'Games Explorer' in Windows 7 by right-clicking the game icon and selecting the 'Crysis 2 - Deauthorize this machine' option. Windows XP users will have a 'Crysis 2 - Deauthorize this machine' option under; 'Start' -> 'Programs' -> 'Electronic Arts' -> 'Crytek' -> 'Crysis 2'.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But this still doesnt answer the question if an allready changed system can deauthorized

The hardware as it was when the first activation was made cant be made anymore, because the graphics card isnt working anymore. So im asking if that activation can be undone?
