read the game informer article

Post » Thu Jan 27, 2011 11:23 am

I read the article, and have given up hope. I most likely wont be purchasing the game and am trying to refrain from bashing bethesda. I understnad however that demographics change and money needs to be made.

Most likely i did you farewell Tameriel, we have had a great 10+ year run. I'm going to miss losing myself in your world. TIPS HAT

What exactly are you so upset about? I see plenty of reasons to be worried, but none to overreact like this

Overall I'm happy with it.

Never heard of you as a modder so no loss if you decide to not try it out but honestly I'd wait and see if I were you.

What a useless post, a useless poll and just general silliness. The game looks much improved and to me is a step in the right direction, if you aint satisfied, wait for the modding community to sort it out :)

4 and 5 option. Did you really cry? With ice tears? You know, because of all the cold in Skyrim.

This is by far the most useless poll and thread I have ever seen.

You must not have seen all the ones about Kinect then.

Anyway, why would someone be so upset? All we really know so far is that its going to look better than Oblivion, the npc enemies will be scaled much better than Oblivion, combat has been improved upon, class walls have been knocked down and replaced with invisible class walls aka perks, and there will be dragons. Oh, and we're a dragonslayer, with magicy dragon powers. So basically, we know next to nothing. We haven't even seen ingame footage yet. I'd say you should at least wait for that.

I dont to much care for cartoony dragons, nor "perks" being added. I really dislike the 5 cities. The lessening number of skills, is almost a deal killer just over all it seems as if this game has been nerfed to death.

I'm going to go read a book, I feel as if many others should too

What do we even know about the cities so far? >.> Their names, and where they may be? You don't like that?

And the dragon's, how many have we seen so far. Maybe two or three? And they look pretty good to me, cartoony dragons makes me wonder if you think they look like Dragon Tales or something.

I am fully satisfied with what I have seen so far. I am not really sure how a true TES fan can just write off the game from one article and a couple pictures?

I actually manage to read a book AND play games, I'm awesome like that.

Cartoony dragons? what makes you say that?

why is perks automtically a bad thing? because they were also in Fallout?

What's with with 5 cities?

I'd also love more skills, and hate they've actually removed more, but it's not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination before we actually the a list of skills

it has better dragons than all the other ES. Oblivion had perks. I think Morrowind only had 4 major cities, and it said MAJOR nor all cities, a few skills are easily blended like acrobatics and athletics and mercantile and speech, mysticism isn't being lost just the skill is we will still have the skill effects

and I cried too when I saw it, I have to wait 10 whole months for such an awesome game

Im surprised with such a huge backlash. Just because something is done differently (and hopefully, better), doesnt mean it wont have the same good old elements to it.

Mass Effect 2 really did scrap most of its RPG elements, which was sad, but Skyrim still has all the level-up perks and growing in your skills. You just dont choose a specific class type at the beginning of the game, which I'm okay with. I think this is more evolved anyways.

I'm gutted by what I've saw. 18 skills? "one handed weapons"? Terrible.

While there are things that MAY save the game, such as trade skills and a nice questing system, I just don't get why they wont learn from thier own mistakes. I doubt a single person was happy with Oblivion's skill cuts, what makes you think they'll be happy with even more?

Oh, and we shouldn't NEED to rely on the modding community. Worst argument ever. The game should be great as it is, mods are there to merely improve the greatness. Also, I don't think I saw any connections to Alduin and Akatosh. If Alduin is a different god from Akatoh, the lore has recieved a major kick to the teeth. We don't want "Good" gods and "Bad" gods. I like the fact that Akatosh can be percieved as either good or bad.

All in all, quite the let down, Betheda. I have high hopes for this one. But, as I've said, if Skyrim carries on with the dumbing down route, Bethesda has lost a customer. I wont be here for TESVI.
