Readying Your Body?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:39 pm

Can we actually get a full body scale, ranging from thin to thick, this time?? Pretty please or something?

Something like RaceMenu mod. So good.

They didn't select it in the E3 demo, but during character creation a "Body" button could be seen.

If Fallout 4 has even one-third of the body options Elder Scrolls Online has I'll be happy.

I figure the "body" option is like the one in Skyrim where it only determines how ripped we are. I'm holding out hope that it also affects height, but alas I doubt it.

I noticed you can change bodies, and as they were going through the presets, it looked like they had different heights and weights. However, that makes me worried that we'll have stretchy spandex armor like in previous Bethesda games.

At *least* needs to be a Skyrim style body type selector.

I'm also hoping that there would be some kind of options for overall build as well as height. The fact that the 'body' option in the menu has a separate tab could well be significant in terms of having multiple variables. Note, however, that if we made our character too short they may not fit into power armor!

EDIT: just read Necrovamp's post above, re spandex lol!

It would be amazing if SPECIAL had some impact on your character's appearance, as complex as that would be. A character with high strength, endurance, or agility might be more buff, tough-looking, or toned, etc. Additionally, highly intelligent, charismatic, or perceptive characters might have these attributes reflected in their eyes or mannerisms. It's asking for a lot, I know.

Out of curiosity, what do highly intelligent eyes look like?

It's hard to define, I suppose, but I can swear I've noticed a certain dullness in the eyes of the.. ah, simple-minded. As for the intelligent, there is the opposite.. a sharpness, awareness, attentiveness, etc.

That Avatar, that title, lol. I'm surprised this is a serious request after seeing the two, but i'm in full support of the idea. I just fear i might never finish character reation then.

Oh uh , sorta came in here thinking this was a robot giggity thread.

Don't worry I can see myself back out.

(I too have hopes for the body slider for what its worth. Crossing fingers for different looking Npc's as well.)

There's only so much stretching they can do of the body without having issues with clipping or texture stretching, but I do hope we get something comparable to ESO's body options. RaceMenu was just insane, I don't need that level of flexibility.

RaceMenu is a little too much, but there were also quite a few duplicate sliders. And with FO4's sculpting looking actually good, that could replace all of those sliders found within RaceMenu. So all we'd really need is a few body types without going overboard, and tons of scar/paint options. I think we'll see more than just 1 type of body, even if it's not a dramatic change.

Well it's also assumed that your are a vet and the military does have some physical requirements. So I think that a dough boy is out of the question.

You'd be impressed if food actually affected your appearance in-game

Brahmin Steaks = you get ripped
Sugar Bombs and Chips = you get fat. Your vault suit gets ripped at the joints...

Heh, I liked convincing him that I was going to take out Killian, only to shoot him in the face a few minutes later with a shotgun. Fun times.

The way my characters are constantly on the run, they'd probably stay slim no matter what they ate. ;)
