Real FPS or TF2-style garbage

Post » Wed Nov 17, 2010 9:02 pm

I'm with the OP on this, TF2 was a disgrace to TFC. It was like a really dumbed down childish version of it. The art style was really nice, the videos, the characters but the gameplay and rock/paper/scissors aspect of it was an insult to what made the first game so awesome and the reason why they made a second one.

OP sounds like a typical Call of Dookie player.

explain? dude sounds big on teamwork etc so plz explain how u came up with this theory good sir?
just because a dude wants skill involved with his game and not have the outcome of gunfights decided by RANDOMNESS u call him a "typical" call of duty player? imo he seems quite the opposite of the "typical" cod player

While this really has nothing to do with Brink and has just become mindless arguments, Arseassin you are drastically overstating the impact crits have on a game. Sure, they toss in some randomness and can even get you killed in a situation where you outskilled the other player, but that doesn't happen very often at all. Not to mention most classes getting crits doesn't mean they will be one shotting everyone. Any non really devoted fan can admit that crits are a minor problem with them game, but they aren't that big of an issue in a game that is still largely skill based and some skill has even been added to crits with the introduction of items that allow minicrits and some items that have crit modifiers.

Mind the rules please.

7. Flaming is not allowed.

Insulting individuals or groups of members and name calling are flames. Any remark that is made to insult another member or group of members will be considered a flame and thus you may receive a warning for it.
Calling people a troll or an apologist for instance can both be considered a flame as can calling someone stupid or ADD. Attacking Xbox players, PS3 players or PC players is not allowed and calling them "console kiddies" or in anyway indicating someone is in some way a lesser person because of their choice is considered a flame here.

Say goodbye to skill based FPS shooter, and hello to World of Team Fortress.

FPS isnt about item collecting or leveling up, its not about dying to people because their stats are better than yours, its about being better than the other person with your own two hands.

The fact that you can even die sometimes to someone getting a lucky crit is too much. There is already enough luck involved in FPS gaming, and as you get better, skill replaces luck and becomes consistency. I'm sorry but I just dont enjoy inconsistency, and I dont play games where the chance of a crit proc'ing determines how well my team can [censored] on the other team.

Aside from this flame war does anyone know if there is going to be a demo of this game available on release?

And I wont even get into the debate of why TF2 is a joke of a shooter here, sorry to disappoint :P

Asking about stats is fine but you are correct that we don't need a debate about TF2 in the Brink forums.
