Real-life firearms.

I think weapons that were made after the split in real life would probably have still been made. I'd like to see LESS weapons from before the split because there's not much logical reason for seeing a garand or BAR in the 2070's. They should return to the "updated variants of older weapons" with real life brandnames.

Well, I think that they could use real life weapons and maybe some upgraded versions of them in the games up until early 70's. At that time the most weapons manufactured still had wooden buttstocks and stuff like that. Even though the world alternates from our timeline it doesn't mean that every single thing has to alternate. But I don't want to see weapons like Glock 17 which is light and mostly made out of plastic, I want them bulky and heavy.

Of course there has been modern weapons in the series before, especially in tactics. But there also were some in Fallout 2 for example H&K G11and P90 and I was kind of dissapointed by those being in there.

Original idea behind new weapons and odd/rare chamber sizes were so that the developers didn't have to worry about realistic damage and effects. I really respect this design decision because it really makes the world unique and I want it to stay that way, it adds more wow factor in to the game world. For once the developers' laziness was a good thing...

Keep it the way they already have it, it nice thay way. With Quite a few real-life firearms but also with overpowered, fictional weapons. Has there ever been an AK-47 in a Fallout?

I would like to see a Fully-automatic pistol, that would be sweet.

I want to find a few guns that highly resemble guns that were in ww2 and maybe a few recent guns as rare guns.I think there should be more customization, even more than cod. :hubbahubba:

but with a new engine(FO4) they'll probably change a lot of things probably even the 50's theme

(Point to you Sir, i will withhold my opinion until i see the next game when it comes to weaponry, but they better stick to the 50's theme, or i'll be pissed!!!) :swear:

I think the guns from our real life that we all actually live when not playing Fallout should be there....but only up until the post WWII era...anything beyond I'd say about 1955 or so should be AVAILABLE, HOWEVER...I would make it so only in an add on extra packed with the game...Give it a title to fit a view of the world where nuclear war never happened*AKA The Real World* and jam pack it full of modern day stuff....there if you happen to like guns from today, but also not tangled up in the guts of the game...make it player's choice...Call it a bundled weapons DLC if you like. Me personally I found myself wondering where the hell in FalloutNV was the .50 cal machine gun...the AMMO for it is there...and don't tell me it's the Light Machine gun, cause it's NOT...I checked that already.

I like the way they handle them already. They use a basic model of one, some look just like they actually do while others are a bit more imaginative.

Its good this way because the developers can experiment and come up with all kinds of fun features of guns if they are kept on a basic naming level. That way gun enthusiasts who are a part of the forums won't fret that one guns recieve doesn't fit its body or who knows what gun people fret over. It adds more developer freedom IMO. They give it a vague name and some characteristics of existing guns and their set. And they can make up whatever mods or ammo types they desire(Toa some what believeable extent).

I like FO's style its part of the game. I don't mind a few assault carbines and marksman rifles(1-3 exceptions are fine). Service rifle is a nice example, shows some modern design but with a wooden frame that gives a nice feel to it (Modern yet rustic). The majority of the guns should be looking like the hunting rifles and lever action shotguns and such.

Amen to that. Why stick with the dull real world as we know it when we have something out of this world.

Those were not AK-47s. The basic shape of AK-47 has been copied alot for many different weapons. AK-47 was never patented, if it was Mikhail Kalashnikov would have been a billionair.

Seeing as how the world ended in 2077, there had to of been more advances in weaponry then plasma and laser rifles. Why the hell would there still be old wooden-framed hunting rifles and stuff, anyway? That crap would belong in an antique store by those times.

I don't want to see "real-life" weapons, like Heckler & Koch assault rifles and SPAS-12's, but I would like to see a lot more modern weapons. it sometimes feels like the bombs dropped in the 1950's and not over 100 years later...

Laser weapons and plasma weapons were new to the Fallout universe in the years leading up to the great war. That is the reason why there arn't that may different types of energy weapons.

I can understand that, I just don't understand why so many of the bullet-based firearms look like they've been made in the 80's or 90's. You'd think there would be more modern looking weaponry, at least. It's been improved upon in NV, but I still don't get why people are running around with older weapons, and just because NV is based around the whole "50's rat-pack era" isn't an excuse.

Fallout 2 had some pretty modern looking yet Fallout Universe weapons and so did Tactics. I guess the reason for the weapons not looking modern, yet still fallout is because so many people may cry "CoD." I don't mind modern looking weapons but I do enjoy the 1950s style weapons.

Gauss weapons were changed from 2mm to just energy and H&K G11 are gone and the Full Auto shotguns are gone. I would like them back.
