Its to give the items they do give out (in collector editions and such) the extra value and rarity. Plus there probably wouldn't be a big "return customer" value to them. I mean after we all bought a case of nula cola bottles or a laser rifle prop or such I doubt we would buy anymore. They would sit on our shelves and collect dust.
