Real Life Photos of Skyrim

I've started going on hikes with the outdoors club at the local college. Yesterday I decided to take some pictures just for you guys.
These are 13 of my favourites ones.

Looks awesome, if only there were some ice trolls lurking amongst the trees.

I actually have one of my buddy under a tree, but he's not exactly an ice troll.

Looking good.

I think I met a Minotaur in one of those locations a couple of days ago. Or maybe that was Oblivion. I forget.

But those are great pictures, and they all look very Skyrimish.

Where were you hiking?

Here are my photos from Sweden and Iceland:

There's only snow on a few of them - that's because I went there during summer to hike.

Nice pictures btw!

Cool pictures - literally as I don't get to see snow IRL. :D

Do I see trees growing on top of rocky areas? I think someone was remarking in another thread that it doesn't happen and "breaks immershun" :D

Hmm... looks very low poly... lack of Dx11 and lightning effects... this game looks like crap!

There's usually about 6 inches of sod on top of a rock when that happens, but you definitely see that.

Whoever said it's not realistic is talking out of their behind.

I've actually been hiking all winter at a local nature preserve, and every time I go out I think of Skyrim. Never thought about taking pics to put up on here, may have to do that. Pics are great, I would love to hike there, looks like fun.

You should definitely take pics.

Fun is definitely one way to put it. The entire trail was a thin layer of snow over a nice slick sheet of ice and up-hill both ways.

Awesome pics. I love to travel myself, and recently went to patagonia, which had a few glaciers. I think there are supposed to be some in Skyrim?

That is gorgeous, love the tall narrow mountains.

I can actually think of a few places around here that look like that.

Sans glaciers, though there's one a fair ways north east, I've never been to it though.

@ Imbecile - Those pics are amazing. I wish I could travel like that, maybe someday.

Might be able to get out for some pics Sunday. I'm from Ohio, so it's a lot of deciduous woods, but I still feel it could fit in rather well.

Nice photos, looks like a great place to hike. :)

I hope we'll see lots of little details like http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12965950/SSPX1858.jpg in Skyrim's landscape.

That was an extremely unnerving shot to take.

The ground was literally angled towards the cliff at my feet. If it wasn't for the fence I was leaning on I wouldn't have dared get that close to the edge.

You'd be surprised where a tree can grow. ( Unless of course you're an arboriculturist :ninja: )

I've seen young saplings growing out of roof gutters. There's also a 300 year old deciduous woodland just up the road, that's home to an Oak, with a Beach tree growing up through the inside of it.

Brilliant stuff, and lovely pictures.

Reminds me of my skiing trip in the Chech Republic. There's just something very special about snow-covered mountains. Lets hope Skyrim captures that magic.

t really depends on where you live. In Sweden, they rarely go above maybe 250 meters above sea level, while in Europe they'll reach up to maybe 750. Just estimated.

Nice, but you live too far south. Your lakes and rivers aren't properly frozen.

Too far south has nothing to do with it. It's too low of elevation.

If I drove 50 miles up the mountain the lakes would be frozen right over.
