I saw this and had to show you guys - I just thought, *sigh* what is the world coming to? Oh yeah, post apocalyptic DC.
I hope it's okay to link you to it. I saw you're not allowed to link to copyright stuff, but this is just an article so I hope it's fine.

So in ten years, we'll all have one of these and will be eagerly awaiting nuclear armageddon.

OMG I want one. It would be cool if you could use it while it was on your wrist.

I think you must be able to or there'd be no point in it being portable. I mean you can hardly take it off and send an email in the middle of Highfields, trust me. You'd never see it again.

My invention for the year 2020 will be better.

I am going to design cars to be be as tough and light so they can bounce off each other like Hot Wheels toy cars without taking damage and I plan to invent dehydrated water.

A real life pip boy will be no match for those 2.

I lol'ed
The first image that popped into my head as I looked at that looked like something out of a Lady Gaga video.
Our present need for internet connectivity is so profound that secondary devices like the Nextep Computer are bound to happen.

"Our NEED is so PROFOUND"
I almost had a giggle fit from it all.

There's one that already exists, but it doesn't have a holographic projector or any of that cool stuff:

Looks like it might have a legit purpose for use by the military or anyone else who works in harsh environments.

Also, real life Vault-Tec:

They have some total BS in that 'prophecies' section of theirs (It promises protection against Planet X, Pole Shift, a Supervolcano, and Global Tsunami, among other things, and they have a countdown to 2012) and it's operated by having co-owners (like Overseeres I guess) be in charge of everything except stocking it with supplies.

You know, I bet you're right. I mean, just knock out the ATMs and barcode scanners at the grocery stores, and crime will just vanish like magic!
When it comes down to it, technology really is the root of all man's evils.

Take away the technology, and all that would be left is the basic human tendency for lust, greed, envy and hatred. All of which are easy to overcome.

I was thinking about making a mount for my Droid to place on my arm to make it a pip-boy. Other then that, they already have http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/08/flexible-organic-display-brings-pip-boy-one-step-closer-to-reali/

Be amazed at the stupidity. Click on any of the icons at the bottom to see their end-of-the-world scenarios.

http://www.terravivos.com/secure/reserve.htm
Here, they screen out undesirables through the use of 'co-owners'. The shelters will only be built once there is enough people in them. Meaning you could pay $50,000 for something that will never get built.

What's really idiotic is that they only last for a year. If there was a nuclear war or 'killer comet' you're going to want to stay underground a lot longer than that.

That was terrifying to be quite honest. Talk about BLEAK.

Does anyone even know what the iPad is for? It's just an iPhone, only massive, and you can't phone people. :///

I don't think you can really say it's useless until you know what it does. That's just a concept image, all it really tells you is what it'll look like, the features are just guesswork I should think.
