I can't decide...
It would be bad perhaps, since it could be annoying in battles.
But at the same time, we got a smart quickmenu now right? That changes everything.

Still, I don't really see the point of having the inventory/menu thing in real time. Not sure what it would benefit, really. It's leaning towards a no on my part.

No, please no. I do not like real time inventory screens at all. If it's an option then fine, but not mandatory. Since IGN said Skyrim has the "sixiest" menus they've ever seen I doubt Beth would have a system where you couldn't sit and take your time and enjoy it.

As long as its in hardcoe mode, then its fine. IT would mean you must plan what you wear and weild before you enter battle, and you cant heal in between :)

Unless the inventory screen is designed that way... which I'm pretty sure isn't.

No this is a video game and not real life. Also let's remember how many items we had in Oblivion, would that game have worked with an active inventory system, my answer is no.

Most definite yes to real time inventory. Not because it'd be realistic, but because it potentially adds tension to combat situations.

Same with looting containers (and lockpicking them). Have it real time, so if you're stealing you'd need take care of your surroindings if you wish to not get caught.

Yes I do, or more precisely I want them to fix the "fight - pause - drink potions - repeat" thing you can do all the time because that's game breaking.

This. When playing casually I don't want to get killed when looking through my things. At the same time, setting up your hotkeys for your poisons and potions ahead of time could make the game feel more alive.

It means the game doesnt pause when you look at your inventory menu.

Oh,
I think we should have it, but there are pros and cons to everything. Especially in battle, it would be bad, but in other times would be good like just dragging something out of it and placing it somewhere, without having to go back and forth to look at the inventory...

I say no. I think of it as your character knows what he's looking for. He is low on health, he digs in and grabs a health potion. He doesn't fumble around through armor and weapons to get to what he uses. I think the pause is meant to be a way that this is showed.

I'd rather have some sort of quick menu that slows time greatly to access while in combat if not stopping it at all. However now I've seen *some* game that requires you to think before you charge in, I'd like it to have severe repercussions if you feel like having a potion or a complete equipment change during a fight (you have to do this kind of real time).

Honestly? We don't really know enough about them to vote.

If like Oblivion's menus? no

If really easy to navigate like we've been hearing? maybe

We have hot keys already, what could real time menu's possibly add?
I say no, It just seems something else to be a nuisance.

A nice solution was found in another RPG - the witcher II

Inventory screen is displayed along with gameplay in slow motion.

It feels just right, but wouldn't matter if Skyrim doesn't do better.

Not real keen on the idea myself.

PS- wonder how many people voted for both Yes and No since the poll's multichoice? :D
