=================
Description:
=================

A texture to add realistic water to the CS. Just a small thing, but a better looking thing.
NEW: v1.1 - Updated to add 10 new texture variations. Yes, including a pink one! Enjoy.

Tired of that ugly pink fake water when working in the Construction Set? I sure was, so I found out how to replace it and made my own texture to simulate real water.

Update: Previous instructions included modifying the ConstructionSet.ini file, but it has since been determined this is not necessary. If the water does not look good in the CS, check to make sure these settings are set like this;

bUseWaterShader=0
bUseWaterHiRes=0

=================
Installation
=================

1. Extract this archive to a temp folder.
2. Decide which texture you would like to use. The current texture in the Textures\Water folder is the original as default. If you'd like to use an alternate texture, remove the file water00.dds from Textures\Water folder, add the alternate texture to this folder, and rename it to water00.dds. Drop the Textures folder into your Data folder.
3. Enjoy peaceful bliss while working in the CS.

=================
Un-Installation:
=================

1. Delete the files/folders associated with the mod.

=================
Incompatibility:
=================

Unless you already have a CS water replacer this will not overwrite any content, nor will it mess with your Oblivion game water.

=================
History:
=================

5/14/2011 - v1.1 - Updated to add new textures.
5/10/2011 - v1.0 - Initial release.

...
(There's probably another way to do this but I find this way easy.)...

You just need to have textures\water\water00.dds texture. Any texture will do, I took one from some static water meshes resource. Arthmoor told me that some time ago and I've been happy ever since.

I have a static water mesh from Texian in use for this for quite a long time. No need to make changes in the ini.
My advice came from Stroti. :wink:

But in ini you turn the shaders on so it will look better I think.

You won't the nice transparency effects without those INI tweaks.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. :)

@Cahadil and ShadeMe;

Interesting information, thank you. I did some further investigation and came up with http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn174/Wren823/CSwater02.jpg. Ini tweaks on the left, no ini tweaks on the right. Unless I'm missing the obvious I honestly don't see a difference. So I'll probably remove the ini tweak suggestion when I update this later this week, unless anyone else has more information.

Indeed - I always had it on, so I assumed that they were the reason why my water didn't look solid/opaque.

That's due to texture's alpha. Maybe there's some ini setting too?
I experimented with that long ago, here's a pic of shaders on but without water texture: http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll54/pero_lozhach/shader-hires.jpg

Any time I've ever turned on the water shaders in the CS instead of getting pure black l get pure white. So I've always had those off and the replacement water texture I was using always worked.

Thanks again everyone. I was inspired to add a few new texture variations, so now you have a choice. :)

Update: new v1.1 release. OP updated.
