Real Wildlife 2b Complete; Quest Issue

Initially, I thought this mod was strictly what it's name states: a mod that adds young wildlife to the creatures found around Vvardenfell. I've been escorting a Nord by the name of Ranolf Hrudson around Morrowind for days now. It's been a while, but I think I found him lost somewhere in Solstheim. He claimed to have lost his way, and if I remember correctly, he came from Thirsk. His father, Hrud the Elder, mentioned that his son, a hunter, hadn't been seen in a while and wanted me to rescue him. I checked to see which mod Ranolf originated from using the console and typing "ORI". It clearly states he's part of the Real Wildlife mod. Anyway, my problem is this: I've brought Ranolf back to Thirsk and approached Hrud, hoping the quest would be completed and my journal entry updated. Unfortunately, nothing happened. I remember reading somewhere that at least one other person had this problem and said something about leaving the cell and re-entering it and Hrud would acknowledge Ranolf's safe return. This didn't work, even after several attempts. I also tried walking around the village and approaching Hrud several different times from many different angles to no avail. Granted, it's good to have him as a companion, but i'm already using Jac's Jasmine companion and i'd like to finish the quest and not have to worry about him getting killed somewhere. Not to mention, i'm at the point in the Raven Rock quests where Falco asks me to get rid of the crazy Nord blocking the mine entrance by only using hand-to-hand combat, but once I initiate combat, Ranolf attacks with his mace, which is a no-no and that particular quest will fail if I kill the Nord. Has anyone had this problem or know of an easy solution? Perhaps using the console to move the quest along and relieve myself of him?

Can you enter a building and then recall to a mark somewhere? Or, will he follow you? Or, use an intervention spell? I remember having to do this to ditch an overly attached nord in mournhold.

Well, I haven't tried Mark & Recall, but I have traveled to different places using a boat or a silt strider. He follows me wherever I go. He's been stuck in buildings after i've left, but i've gone back to get him. If possible, i'd rather complete the quest to rescue him. I also thought of just using him until he's killed, but then I'd feel guilty for not completing the quest. He doesn't have any dialog to release him or have him wait anywhere either. When I think of it, i'm not exactly sure why this type of quest would be part of a wildlife mod. And it also makes me wonder if there's any other quests attached.

I took a quick look in the CS, and it looks like some of the of the journal entries are not lining up with the Topics/Greetings.
(although it's been awhile since I did Dialog, so I might have missed it)

Journal, RWB_Q1, 50
is the needed index for the reunion.

If Ranolf dies, the quest also does end though, so you could let some bears eat him.

The mod has a few small quests scattered in the wilderness. I believe there were plans to even have a joinable faction in later versions.
