Realistic

Ok so hardcoe mode has been discussed before..but I think if this was included, your body temperature should be a big necessity. Up in those snowy mountains its gunna get really cold..so you should have a meter for your temperature(Only on hardcoe mode) and the meter is like the radiation meter from :fallout: Instead of minor rad poisoning, critical rad poisoning and so on..its changed to minor frost bite and so on. And in order to stop this you could start a camp fire (or find one) and warm up. I think this would make the game much more realistic. (Again, Only on hardcoe mode.)

That does sound interesting. It would be cool to have to find shelter or build a fire to warm up.

i would stake alot of money this won't be in the game. It'll be a mod almost certainly, but it won't be in the game.

Interesting idea. hardcoe is a given in. Why else would cooking be implemented? it would be near useless if you only got a bit of a bonus for health but nothing compared to potions.

If it was in, probably wouldn't play it like I didn't with F:NV, would be cool for players that do play it though.

I've always wanted to have a reason and ability in a game to have to build a shelter and fire and sleep for the night, FO3 NV kinda helped with that, but i would like to see more mechanics added to the idea.

This would definitely make a wonderful addition to hardcoe mode, provided it's in the final game. And even if it's not, you just know a modder will eventually try to program it either way.

At first I voted "yes" but I changed it to "hell yes" because I actually think that would be really awesome, especially because it would make sense if it was done similar to the rad meter.

I really like this idea... interesting. It's too bad it probably won't see the finished product, though, as it really would fit perfectly with the rad poisoning mechanic. :(

I can just imagine... instead of the sounds of a geiger counter, it could be sound of ice creeping up on your body. Crackling and making your screen turn icy blue... right before you die of frostbite and hypothermia, of course.

It'd also be cool if nords had a resistance to it. The meter rises much slower.

I don't like everyone saying that "oh it will be in a mod don't worry"

Why can't they just please us with the vanilla game?

This sounds like a very interesting idea and I would for sure download the mod if it were modded into the game, but this is one of the things that I wouldn't mind not being in the default game, just because console kiddies would get pissed and not buy the game.

Well im going to buy it on console..and i would be kinda mad if i couldnt get it because its only available through mods. But that wouldnt stop me from buying the game.

But that would immediately put Nords at a massive advantage since they have 50-100% immunity to frost.

I would like cold environments to affect our characters if the associated gameplay is fun. I'm suspicious of any idea that comes with a "but only in hardcoe mode" caveat. Is the idea really so distasteful that it should be optional? Was any effort put into answering this question: "How can this feature be worked into the game in a meaningful and fun way?" Also, hardcoe mode is a mod. How would I feel if Bethesda included several player-made mods with Skyrim and then charged us extra for them?

cool idea
but i dont think cold effects nords, and itd be more severe for argonians id think
so it would make some characters much harder to play

It was a feature of Fallout: NV - a game setting. It was also really tedious. I liked that fact that ammunition had weight, but having to stop and eat and drink something every few hours just became annoying; especially as food and drink was so plentiful it didn't offer any kind of challenge, it was just a chore. If there is a hardcoe mode in Skyrim it would have to be carefully balanced to make it actually fun to try this time.

Well maybe instead of being only on hardcoe mode, put it in the normal setting. It was on normal f3 and it really added to the game. And the Frostbite meter working the same as the Radiation poisoning meter would work rather well. And it wouldnt be too hard to avoid due to dungeons and caves. I just think it would make it more realistic and interesting.

It is a developer-created mod. It is a separate, optional package that adds things to the game, or that modifies things within the game. If that isn't the definition of a mod, then what is?

Could be a fun thing i guess, but i say that they should implement a feature that affects the players health and speed if he goes wandering into a heap of snow or blizzard, without "meters"

Well the meter is so you know how cold you are..and showing if you have any case of frostbite. :foodndrink:
