Realistic Wants for ES:V

Post » Wed Mar 31, 2010 6:50 am

I've read alot of posts about this and that which should or shouldn't be in the game. From a development standpoint here is the best of what might be actually possible. Because Oblivion's disc was half full with voice dialogue, presumably Skyrim will be two discs.

- A hunting guild or basic quest line (quests when accepted spawn specific beasts)

- Improved blocking/parrying system

- Improved horse riding mechanics (see: red dead)

- Variation in visual style and textures, not just physical differences between Mine, Cave, Ruin and Fort.

Just a start of some realistic improvements. Remember that the more voices and higher rez textures people are clamoring for would more than likely cause storage issues.

You COULD replace or add a skill for Beast Training (or something else) which would allow non conjurers to have access to a less powerful, always present (until your beast is dead and you have to find and capture another) companion. The presence of this companion would block the magical conjuration of another creature but would still allow conjuration of weapons and armor.

I've just read about 250 posts with people who are getting way too carried away. I believe that the graphical style will obviously and vastly improve, it's going to be a whole new script, but when speaking of completely new additions, we must be realistic lest we disappoint ourselves.

Any thoughts?

There is no need for another general ideas and wants topic, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1152946-official-ideas-and-suggestions-topic-3/. Otherwise, please use one of the many topics on more specific subjects.
