[RELz] Really AEVWD - Thread #5

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2011 8:52 pm

No you cannot, as Arthmoor has changed almost all the folder names. I will upload a new omod installer for 1.7 within a few hours though.

Thanks for the installer

Version 1.7

Thank you and contratulations for your new release! Your mod has found a place in my "must haves folder". I'm guessing only the base package needs to be upgraded right? You have not changed SI package?

Cheers!

Just the base and the Anequina package. SI didn't need updates, just relocation to the new site.

Almost all? Er... how old was that OMOD script anyway? I only added one and changed another's name.

Version 1.7

* Some missing fort ruin meshes have been added which should plug rogue holes in the sides of distant forts.

* Split the Imperial City architecture into a separate install option due to the performance issues it can cause.
Now you don't need to sacrifice all of the city architecture to avoid the issue.

Thank you for the update and pluggin in those hole's on the forts

Thanks NiceOne for Omod Installer, will report back

Which two downloads?

He may be referring to the two Really AEVWD files.

I downloaded both, and the TesA one looks like it's broken.
It says it's 41.8 MB (both on the download page and my Browsers Download screen) but finishes with a file of only 34.9 MB and doesn't open at all.
The one on ModDB loads just fine though. Full 41.8 MB, and unpacks with no problem.

Just downloaded the TESA file, it's intact at 41.8MB and opens just fine in 7zip.

Well, you finally got me a good enough reason to sign up at TESA last night and I downloaded the file fine and have just installed it fine as well. No problems thus far, and thanks for the update Arthmoor!

It was the TESA file I downloaded and used for creating the new omod installer (and of course installed too), and the file behaved as normal for me.

Well thanks to LHammonds, the Nexus site is back up to current again. So those of you who prefer it have been spared for awhile longer :)

I don't know if it's my cpu that is too slow(2.4Ghz quad core) even though I have a good graphic card (ATI 4890) I had to disable the IC architecture part of the mod, really put the game to its knees :).

Anyway great mod, really like the modular aspect :).

Stupid question, but the readme notes that the Core module is everything that is already LOD in the vanilla game, only given the RAEVWD treatment, right? So there's nothing but a net benefit from just adding the core module on its own?

I installed RAEVWD 1.7 and used the omod installer and turned it on ran it through TES lod and started the game. Everything is pale blue in the distance. I don't know what it did wrong I did add on the Koldorn textures and maybe this is casueing the problem? I also added Let the people drink maybe it causing the problem Thanks

Exactly. The core package is cleaned and optimized versions of the vanilla meshes. Using just those should have zero impact on performance, but it will help with visual anomalies caused by Bethesda's dirty meshes.

I'd have to see a screen of what you mean by everything being pale blue in the distance.

I have an issue:
http://img203.imageshack.us/i/screenshot1cm.jpg/

This is what the grass looks like when viewed at a certain angles(it appears patch of grass just disappear and the rest look weird). I'm quite sure this issue is linked to RAEVWD because I uninstalled it and the grass was perfect once again.
I'm using the RAEVWD+RAEVWD SI+QTP3 lowres package(overwriting the RAEVWD files)+Bomret textures(overwriting those of the SI package in BAIN).

I downloaded the 4 files on "Mod DB" a few days ago so I don't think they're outdated...

Is this a known issue?

RAEVWD cannot have an impact on grass. Are you perhaps using one of the low-poly grass mods? That's what things looked like the last time I tried one.

This:

and this:

Should eliminate your problem. It really has nothing to do with RAEVWD.

Well the issue appeared after I installed RAEVWD and disappeared after uninstalling it...
Anyway thank you for the links, I will try it :).

Which is odd because RAEVWD affects Distant landscapes, not the immediate foreground!
