I really have no clue what character I exactly want to make.

The first idea was to make a Dark Elf. (I believe I already showed some pictures.)
However, the build did not work out as exciting as I thought.

I do want a person with a bit of a dark personality but with a good morale, and many ideas are flowing trough my mind right now.
One of them being a nord who could be an ancestor from my main character in Skyrim. (Personality and appearance wise a very dark person aswell.) I could give this character a similiar appearance.
Spoiler
But it may look a bit too perfect for a character to be chosen by the emperor and becoming the Hero of Kvatch. Eventually being the ancestor of a Dragonborn. A bit of a deja vu.
My Skyrim character would make herself look less unique aswell because of her similiar appearance.

So yeah. I am really doubtfull about what I exactly want. What do you think?

I think you should make a save at the end of the tutorial, before exiting the sewer, and then you can try different "builds" without going through the whole thing again.

One of the things that I've done is to let random chance decide it. I roll http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm to choose from a list of possibilities. The bottom die can be given any arbitrary number of "sides" to correspond with the number of choices on your list. My "Randy" character was made that way, and he was fun until he got killed.

I do save at the end of the tutorial. But I tend to accidently save over that file again. So I do often have to begin from the beginning. Which can be annoying. Your idea about rolling a dice might help me out though.

I suddenly got an idea in my mind.
A Nord father at the age of 30 who his son got killed. (He was only 8 winters old. :violin:) Perhaps he then turned to drinking and then got arrested
for assault. When he was set free, his heart was filled with grief, guilt, shame and anger. But for the sake of good he did what he was told. (And that is where the mainquest starts.)

Why not just let things take their own course, and see what happens...?

I'm a type of person that likes to come up with a whole background and story before he makes a character. Which can be pretty unfortunate at times.
I'm a perfectionist in these kind of things. :ermm: Something I really want to get rid of. Sometimes I create awesome characters, yet for some reason I still start over.

I don't think I can help you with the specifics of a character that will be just right for you. I will offer that I draw a huge distinction between past and future. I have no problem giving a character a fairly detailed background (although letting them reveal much of it during gameplay is fine also) since their background is history. What I will not do is plot out their future at all. That is what I insist develop purely in game by listening to the character and sensing their reaction to things. My problem is that if I decide out in advance what the character's future will be, then playing the game becomes simply marching them through a script instead of an adventure. Anyway, just some ramblings for thought. Good luck as you seek a character that is right for you.

Thinking about future is not my kind of thing either. I think that tomorrow I will try out a Nord character, and just think about the story while playing. Perhaps that would result into something I really stick to.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I used to be the same way (I still am, a little). I could spend as much as two whole months meticulously planning a character. There have been a few times I actually got tired of a character before I began playing her. It sounds nuts, I know. But, like you, I too have a strong perfectionist streak. Rampant, unchecked perfectionism, I have disvovered, can actually interfere with the spontaneous enjoyment of playing video games. Who knew? *smacks forehead*

Skyrim has helped me in this regard. Skyrim's 'blank slate' chargen has encouraged me over the past year to relax a bit, to just jump into the game and see what happens. I am learning to incorporate accidents and mistakes into my character's story more and more now.

Anyway, if you're looking to break out of old habits you might want to take a look at the interesting approach (somewhat similar to what glargg suggested above) outlined by gpstr in his http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1115805-completely-random-character/ thread.
