Wait did you seriously just say "realistic color"? As opposed to what, the myriad of unrealistic colors that exist? Every color, by virtue of existing, is realistic. I can't believe I just read that sentence.
And furthermore, who are you or anyone else for that matter, to regulate what color someone wants to dye their armor or clothing?
People should be able to dye their leather armor pink if that tickles their fancy.
I would have loved to have been around back in the day in Scotland or England or something and walk into a leather shop and start telling the leather workers that they weren't allowed to use blue dye because blue isn't a realistic color.
This mindset is infuriating.
"I hope you can't dye metal armor because I think it's stupid and I want every to play teh game jus lyke meeeeee!!!!"
Who cares what anyone else thinks is stupid? If I want to run around Skyrim slaying dragons with an orange warhammer then I should have that option. If you think that's stupid, then don't color your warhammer orange, but don't come here posting about how "I hope that's not in because it's dumb."
Not everyone plays fantasy games like a Medievel Sim City supernerd.
Um...can people shoot lightning bolts out of their hands?
So much win. I like you. Smart. Arrogant. Logical. :foodndrink: Watch out for those unrealistic colors in videogames, kids.
OT: Yes to customization. Bethesda, do it right.
Everybody will be happy. Use the options they give you, and don't complain because you don't want them to exist. The color/dye/paint customization makes sense in TES, so why argue?
Edit: @Dragonbone - Yes, metal can be tinted. Not dyed, per se. This includes weapons such as swords. Japanese katanas, for instance. As for dyeing/tinting in TES, why not apply magic to it? You can enchant a weapon with the ability to explode with fire/frost/shock power on impact....so why not zap it with a little color?
