Fable, well fable 2 and 3. some features were cool, but the overall game was just utterly [censored] compared to 1.

look at what happened in "soul reaver"
MAN! part 1 was WOW awesome ..and then ...part 2 ... it just steadily went downhill till it died.
that was a Serious Tragedy! that game had MASSIVE potential

and what about Resident evil ... LOL i LOVED it ... but that too ... struggled and eventualy hit the dirt ..
took a while but it died

So true people havent played Skyrim and yet claim its the best game ever? :cryvaultboy:

All opinion. But to some it will be no matter what, unless it is really really terrible which personally to me seems impossible. Certain fans wont care what bugs it has, or what you can or cannot do...just that it is a new TES game.

Isn't the new Fable just a rail shooter? Rofl. That guy that made Fable sure is a genius...

KotOR III turned out to be an MMO, Dragon Quest IX a DS exclusive, Dragon Quest X a Wii MMO, Dragon Quest II nothing like Baldur's Gate, which I believe was BioWare's selling point for Origins, Kingdom Hearts III isn't in existence, yet, Assassin's Creed III was scrapped in favor of annual releases meant to milk the series, and I'm sure there are a few more I'm forgetting.

its comments like this one that proove my point.
you simply have no idea what this game will be like .. because you have never played it.
so to claim it will be "legendary", and as you say "It will forever be remembered through the annals of time as the greatest of all time." is what i concider a falsehood.

I retract my statement from the other day. You get a

I too bought Two Worlds II thinking it was going to be "the next Oblivion". It wasn't. It just felt so... empty, not in terms of content but in terms of lore, imagination and sense of wonder. I might give it another try before Skyrim comes out, though.

Ii have never even seen that game on the shelves tbh. I was going to get it, but dunno what has happened with it. Seems it's released in some parts of the world and not others. I'm obviously in the World they didn't release it. :ermm:

There's been several games I've been overly hyped for, only to be majorly disappointed.

L.A. Noire - Finally a game taking me back to the good ol' 40's as a detective.. something original in gaming, and looks beautiful. Played the first few cases before switching back to a more interesting game.

Brink (sorry BGS.. :( ) - I got VERY hyped up for this game... massive customization, amazing matches, tons of possibilities... ruined by repetetive matches, annoying enemy AI, and almost no one playing online (Xbox).

Skyrim so far hasn't disappointed me. Sure there are a few flaws and concerns, but my hype level hasn't gone down yet. So I'm praying to the Divines that this game will make my year. ^_^

Skyrim looks rugged so YOU must be happy about that? I hear it has a kind of morrowind feel to it......

very happy, most of my complaints about oblivion seem to have been addressed... very high hopes for skyrim.

Biggest disapointments recently have to be -

-The Witcher 2.
Mainly because the much hyped improved combat system was basicly a sluggish mess that came down to "roll roll roll roll slash" over and over again.

-Brink.
Hardly any maps, gaining ranks was way too fast, and the pc multiplayer died out in a couple of weeks at most.

-Homefront.
3 hour long single player, and broken, buggy multiplayer.

-Battlefield 3
Amazing looking game, now a complete no buy for me because of the terrible way multiplayer server browsing is handled, and being forced to install what amounts to spyware to even play the game.

Well I have read that the story is terrible..people can finish it under 10 hours...the enemy AI is great but stays the same throughout, its not very big or opened...some have said that the end was really terrible .. wonder why though....

You read? Some have said?

How can you be let down by someone else opinion? There are lovers and haters of everything.

I think Skyrim will be awesome. If it's in the flavor of Oblivion but featuring all the improvements I've seen in fallout and new vegas I'll be REALLY happy. If it's half as epic as what I think it is going to be I'll be ecstatic.

My biggest letdown was GTA4 because they dumbed it down, removing all leveling of skills, you can't get fat or get ripped by training, you couldn't change your ugly character at ALL. They took out airplanes and several other vehicle types. They deleted a lot of cool things you could do in GTA SA, and frankly, Saints Row showed them up. Instead of getting bigger and crazier, we get dumbed down and boring. About the only thing better were the graphics and animations.

If I want hardcoe action, I play COD. If I want strategic, huge battles with vehicles and destruction, I play BF. If I want to play an awesome RPG, I will play TES. If I want to be creative and make awesome circuits, I play Minecraft. When those games try to do what one of the other ones has already done to perfection, they wont do it as well and it will get in the way of what originally made it attractive.

I think now it's; For hardcoe action you do COD or BF3, and for RPG you do TES or Minecraft... The era of incredibly epic large scale strategic battles and creative building are at an end... I really hope that I do get a job at BGS after college, as I currently plan to do, because then if they stray the TES or Fallout series, I can fight my hardest from within the company to keep what is great about them alive.

Fable 2, I absolutely loved Fable: The Lost Chapters, was pumped about it's release for almost a year. On release day I rushed into the store, paid for it, rushed home, played it, completed it and then traded it with my brother for Ninja Gaiden 2, a far superior game.

At first I was thinking the Sims 3. It lost a lot of the quirky aspects that Sims 2 had when Maxis was still around along with having craptastic customer service and just many ways of trying to leech money out of you. It just feels like they don't care about making the gamer happy.

But I decided the biggest let down was Dragon Age 2. I was so excited, Dragon Age was one of the best games I had played. Lots of depth, good replay value, and just hours and hours of stuff to do. But then the second came around. It was shallower. You played as a preset character, certain aspects were taken out that took away from the story and the depth. Overall it was just a huge disappointment.

It was...

Oblivion. The let down came half-way through the game when I realised that the level scaling system was a slap in the face.

I did gain back some appreciation by learning to cap my characters at levels 10-15, but it never cured the trauma.

Skyrim is showing promise though....

Yep. Don't get me wrong, I had about 130 hours of fun with Oblivion, but halfway through when I figured out the leveling system, it felt like I'd been scammed. I mean, what the hell was the point after that? It really took a lot of wind out of the sails for me. Looking forward to an improved system this time around.

I have a lot of faith in Skyrim so far but I'm keeping my hype-o-meter in check personally. A lot of the things I've seen make it sound like it will be a much better step closer to what made Morrowind great than what Oblivion did. I love the Nords, second to the Dunmer they are one of my top three races (Dunmer, Nord, Khajiit respectively), so if I can get engrossed in the lore I will be so happy.

My biggest let down of the last decade or so? Hrm... I'd say Assassin's Creed 1. I wanted to love it, I really did. I was hoping for something kind of similar to Hitman except within the Crusades (which would be simply amazing I'd say). What I got was technically great atmosphere but so much repetition and most of the assassinations weren't really all that enjoyable. Thankfully Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood have completely made up for that. Here's hoping Revelations will round out Ezio's trilogy in an amazing way. <3

Halo 2!

Huge, huge disappointment for me. I must have watched that demo level a hundred times. I was severely disappointed when I got the game. The campaign was nowhere near as good as halo 1's. In fact, none of the other halos' campaigns have been nearly as good.

Not only that, but I have had much more fun playing halo pc multiplayer than any of the other halo games as well.

But anyways, I seriously doubt the skyrim will disappoint me. First game I have been this hyped about since halo 2 actually.
