I'm really late

Post » Wed Oct 19, 2011 11:37 am

Sorry.

Ok bear with me.

I only started playing Oblivion last May.
I like RPG's but none of my friends ever did, so they all told me I should play Fable....

All they ever told me was: Some RPG geek like you should play Morrowcause of blah blah.
So I never did that.

Then last May I bought DA 2 ( shame on me) and I picked up a used copy of Oblivion, just because I saw it on a shelve.... (for only 9,99 euro)....

I played DA2 for 40 hours, then tried Oblivion.....
Ever since, I'm hooked!!! (200 hours OB, 100 hours MW, just on 2011)....

I now have OB on XBOX 360 and Morrowind, then I decided to buy Morrowind on PC, man! That is so much better!

So I now have OB and MW on Xbox and MW on pc (Crappy old laptop)... I am soooooooo hoocked!

What I really want to ask is: are there some people here in this comunity that only found TES as late as I did, and (more importantly) love it to death as of now?

Seriously, I'm going to get a Imperial dragon tattoo, on my right forearm just because I love these game so much.

Well, I'm a TES fan since Morrowind actually...
I had never heard of it before, then I got it from a nVidia video card (2003 or 2004 I'm not sure)

All I have to say is: Lucky me....
Otherwise, I'd never like this kind of game. I'm a RPG fan since Morrowind too :)

I got Oblivion in 08 for the PS3 at a crappy used game store in my old hometown.

I had no idea that random looking RPG game would turn out to be the best game I ever played.

So I also feel like I got to the party kinda late, but late is better than never.

Late is better then never. Still, I (as an RPG geek who even likes to LARP*) should have played MW when it was young. I never did, and I blame all those persones I know, they should have told me!!!! F'ing MW was there since 2002, and I m!issed it! Shame on them and shame on me! I'm here in time for Skyrim though, but that' s just me ;)

Thnx, I just bought MW on steam for only 20 euro's, and it blew me away. Compared to the gfx on MW (xbox version) and even OB (xbox 360 version) it is sssssoooooooo much better. I now see what all those oldschool Morrowind Fashionistas are talking about (and it truely is the better game)...

My husband had Morrowind when we met 10 years ago, I hadn't really played anything on PC except Diablo and stuff on Nintendo(Snes, N64), Playstation. I loved it for a long time but I didn't get as into it as I would of liked because I couldn't deal with talking to NPC's although i did manage to get quite a few hours I still haven't beat it. Then I got Xbox version which I didn't like at all.

After that I played games like Gothic though which is really the only game I think that comes close to the level as Morrowind and Oblivion. Games like Risen, Two Worlds and a few other games tried but failed at least to me.

I got Oblivion probably a year after it came out since I didn't know about it, but I loved it a ton more cause it had voice acting, eventhough not many voice actors. I played Oblivion a whole lot but on 360 cause my computer at the time wasn't good at all. I've since played it on PC and it runs far better for me but I don't like the mouse and keyboard for some reason. I probably got 150 hours or more I don't know since that file is long gone.

Now with Skyrim I'm excited to the point of obsession, I've never been so excited for any game ever and I've played tons of games in the last 10 years. Might be setting myself up for disappointment, but I enjoyed all the other Elder Scrolls games I played despite flaws. I don't care for Daggerfall though and haven't played Arena. I like the way the newer ones are set up though. For DOS games I don't get much more in depth than Leisure Suit Larry and Kings Quest though.

Sorry didn't mean to go on so long.

My only elder scrolls game playing experience is that I played my cousin's version of oblivion for about a half hour like 4 or 5 years ago. I never got past the sewers but I've watched my friends play Oblivion. I beat fallout 3 I thought it was alright but felt both Oblivion and Fallout 3 had a sort of cold lifelessness to them. I don't know if it was the character design, animations, reuse of voice actors over and over again or something about the semi-repetitive environments but I couldn't get excited for those games even though I wanted to. I always preferred the more dynamic worlds of the Mass Effect series or Red Dead Redemption. I started reading up on Skyrim a little less than a year ago and began to get very excited about the concept of playing and Elder Scrolls game with it's famous "do what ever you want" game mechanics in a world that seems to have far more realism, life and character than either "The wasteland" or "cyrodiil". Skyrim looks amazing and every detail I hear about it just makes me want it more and from hanging around on the forums so much it's made me want to check out Morrowind too.

MW and OB are a religion now. Even though I just started in may THIS YEAR! I was asking if some players have had the same problem. I'm just late to the game.

I'm technically old enough to have played the older games when they came out but I didn't have a computer and was into console games only until like 1999-2000, first game I played on PC was Diablo. I'm only 30 though I'm hardly an Elder though,
