Really Mystic Emporium?

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2011 8:22 pm

I'm at my wits end with this problem. I feel like i've read / tried a billion different things to no avail.
The store is just locked all the time and it's a pain in the rear end.
I know it has something to do with Froscrag spire / the UOMP fix because when i disable those 2 and load the save and wait 24 hours the door unlocks.
If I load them both it stays locked and if I pick the lock or use the console Unlock command and go in the elf chick gets all pissed and if I leave its still locked, if I unlock the top stairs room and leave it still stays locked, I've tried messing with the load orders, etc. idk what else to do.
I'm using UOP/USIP/UOMP/UOPS and I installed them in that order as well.

The fix can easily be overwritten by other mods that effect that area or the NPCs within. The fix is pretty simple, you can use TES4Edit to combine changes from all your mods effecting those things into a separate patch.

I have been able to fix almost all load order compatibility type issues with this for myself.

It's a problem with having Frostcrag Spire and any other mod that alters the shop/owner (Unoffical patches do that - because fixes were needed.)

Try this, should fix it right up:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12745

EDIT: According to the author of the mod; "UOMP Frostcrag should solve the problem if you make sure it's loading after DLCBattlehorn."
So try that first in order to avoid the need for an extra patch .esp file.

Well the TSE edit program helped me find the conflict and changing the load order fixed it; BUT now I hear this obnoxious 1 beat "drum" sound every couple of seconds no matter what im doing.

Are you using vanilla Frostcrag?? Or something like Frostcrag Reborn?? Also if you have correctly BOSS'd your load order there should not be any problems, and certainly no need for editing the UOMP in TES4EDIT.

What? It's vanilla frostcrag first followed by the UOPS version (which was installed after UOMP). I don't know what you mean by BOSS'd I just used TS4Edit to see where the conflicts were then I used OBMM to move the merchant money mod I had above Frostcrag because it was taking Calandil or whatever off the ICMysticEmporium faction.

Now I just need to figure out this damn constant drumming noise.

It is a long running project that sorts all your mods into their optimal order.
These days you will most likely get the response of "don't bother asking about load order issues until you have sorted your mods through BOSS first."

Well I ended up isolating what was making the constant drumming noise and fixed it but I'm curious what some of the stuff in my BOSS report means.

Why does it say I need TS4Edit for the dirty edits if those files are the most recent ones I can find on TESNexus?

Why does it say I need TS4Edit for the dirty edits if those files are the most recent ones I can find on TESNexus?

Because it isn't about how recent they are. Notice that they don't say "this mod needs updating' (it only ever says that if there are known problems with older versions, or new versions have different names), but rather that the mod is "dirty" - contains dirty edits that should be cleaned out using TES4Edit. Clean mods tend to result in less compatibility problems etc.

By the way; the "dirtiness" is a typical result of using the Construction Set, which adds them in and/or fails to make some changes in a sufficiently clean fashion, not really a mistake made by the authors or anything. Optimally of course the authors should do the TES4Edit cleaning themselves before release - there are some that do, but many that don't.

You may note there that even the official DLC mods, from Bethesda themselves, are all dirty!

Here's one link to a cleaning guide (it is actually pretty simple): http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/TES4Edit_Cleaning_Guide#Section_.232:_Actual_Cleaning_Instructions
