REALLY urgent that the FOV in 1st Person View is increased

Post » Thu Mar 06, 2014 1:37 am

Here's an album comparison posted to Reddit of 50, 65, and 74 degree field of views in ESO's first person view: htt p://im gur. co m/a/ 4QGOc#0 (remove the spaces... I'm not allowed to post links for some reason).

I don't think anyone in the world would prefer 50 degree field of view over 65 of 74 degree field of view for the standard 16x9 resolution monitor. Higher fields of view offer a more realistic and immersive view, provide additional situational awareness, and reduce player motion sickness. SO WHY IS THE FOV LOCKED AT 50? It makes no sense.

I'm telling you, the field of view in first person view will DIRECTLY affect the review scores of this game. A proper field of view is essential to TES players who want to play ESO like Skyrim or Oblivion. And it's such a simple fix. Just bump up the default field of view and add a FOV slider to the options.

Please make this happen, Zenimax. I'm primarily a third person view player, but I plan on playing the heck out of ESO, and I want to see this game get good reviews so it has more popularity.

I'd love a fov range slider. In skyrim i bump it to 75-80. Is it really 50? I thought it would have been 65.

Edit...man posting on a phone can be a be etch.

elder scroll games, gives you the ability to modify the ini files and increase or decrease stuff... So the final product, may give you that...

Anyone - particularly players of past Elder Scrolls games I imagine - who like the higher than usual degree of (visual) world immersion that ESO offers over most other MMOs.

Sure, I'll probably use 3rd person for PvP (don't really have much experience with that, only dabbled a bit in it in other MMOs), but I definitely like the first person view in ESO.

An increased FOV would be a very welcome addition though, I play Skyrim at 75-80.

Possibility that this will not include editable ini files, since as an MMO it is intended to be as moddable as previous TES games.

Having some additional FOV options would certainly be welcome, especially for players that want to play on multiple monitors.

There was a thread on this yesterday. A lot of people agree with you, OP. I too would love a FoV slider, since a narrow field of view makes me sick (literally nauseated).

FOV slider please !

The FOV is set how it is because of the consoles. Same problem we've have with other FPS games that are out on console, the pc versions have locked FOV at the best FOV for a console (large TV).

The current view feels cramped / squashed in.
