Just checked pete's twitter and five hours ago he said "Heading to Dallas to see id (RAGE! DOOM 4!) and do some QuakeCon planning."

Now just thirty minutes ago he said "At Firefly for dinner with Tim and Todd. They have Hot Tamales at the bar. Classy!"

For those that don't know tim is tim wilits of Id software. Why is todd howard in dallas with pete and tim when pete is there on business planning for rage and doom 4? Todd is the lead of skyrim?

This also leads me to the question of how can rage be released in september and skyrim in november? Two huge games for bethesda why would they release them two months apart?

Is something else going on at this meeting? Maybe talks of a delay? Why else would todd howard be taking time away from skyrim development at the studio to be in dallas when pete is there with tim planning for Id's games?

Maybe because Todd Howard has a life? And they almost certainly have more than one development team in their entire studio. One is working on Skyrim, one is working on doom 4 and another is working on rage. I'd be more worried if Todd wasn't sleeping or something because he was working so hard. I'm not worried because he took a trip and ate dinner.

I really hope Bethesda Softworks gets renamed to ZeniMax Publishing because Todd and his team have nothing to do with games like DOOM 4 and Rage, which Bethesda Softworks, a separate company from Bethesda Game Studios (Todd and team), publishes.

I agree. They could very easily clear up tons of confusion by re-naming one of them. Bethesda Game Studios are developers. Todd and his team. They are part of the ZeniMax family. ID Software, a different company, is also under the ZeniMax family. Bethesda Softworks is a publisher. They publish all games made by devs under the ZeniMax family.

Exactly! Todd has nothing to do with I'd software his team (bgs) and tims team (Id) are just under the zenimax umbrella. So WHY is todd in dallas with pete and tim when pete is there discussing plans for id's games?

They're completely unrelated games. They're not even the same genre -- not developed by the same studios -- the sales of either won't affect the sales of the other.

And I'm happy for Todd, Tim and Pete that they can enjoy themselves and not just work all the time. Happy workers are productive workers, as Marx said, I believe.

First of all Todd is the Director. He assigns other people to lead positions(lead programmer, lead art design, etc) and then directs them. As a director he oversees many projects, not just Skyrim.

Who knows but it's probably a spitball meeting of what's going on with ID's current game(Rage?) and when your a millionaire you can dine wherever the hell you damn well please.

Simple Todd is human not a computer made purely for game making and brilliant game design ideas, he has friends, there for he enjoys going places with his friends, there for you are making connections where none are.
