Iam sorry but i really cant see anything that wasnt already achieveable with the Cryengine 2.
In fact this looks almost exactly like Cryengine 2.

Well, CE3 wasn't going to be ground-breaking like CE1 to CE2 if that's what you're after.

CE3 is simply an optimized engine, from what I gathered, with some improved/new features. So really, no differences except it will run better for everyone, without the need of a super computer. :)

But I like what these guys do. Serious simulations, which although may never come to us, look really well done.

Agreed, but hopefully this has a much higher framerate than CE2. xD

I did not notice any DX11 techniques either which could have had some amazing possibilities for that scene, was kinda disappointed by that...

Cryengine SERIOUSLY needs simulated destruction and not just model swap
also water physics preferably better than cryostasis since thats really old

Cryostasis was a great game... but its physics- gimmickry made it more demanding than Crysis.

I dont want to criticise the CE3 for not being this groundbreaking. But the version number is more of an advertisemant gag. Its just not a whole new engine. Like you said its an optimised one.
So calling it Cryengine 2,5 would be far more appropiate. I mean its not a shame to do so. DICE called their engine for Bad Company 2: Frostbite 1,5.

I reject my earlier statement... This video makes me want to beg Crytek to make a real BF style game in the CE3... Not sure if it has any DX11 effects, but it looks truly photorealistic.. I think these are the best graphics I have seen from the CE3 (im talking new models, not the old imported mesa maps in the demo..).

Maybe Shin can embed this since I am having some trouble figuring it out... You want the link anyway for full 720P.

Done, though, can't embed 720p atm.

Saw this video earlier today. Damn impressive!

but its not very good

Working with sketch up and cryengine 3 isn't a good idea, It's way better work with 3dsmax, I know sktch up is a whole lot easier but I think it's only good for ideas, not real projects
