Reason why MP will die off quickly

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 4:12 am

Cheaters/bugs/glitches aside... The MP of Crysis 2 will not last anywhere near as long as for example MW2 on PS3 and im talking all 3 platforms...

Why is that?

Well after playing this game for over 115 hours i can safely say its very very repetitive... There are only a couple of Nanosuit modules worth using (Nano Recharge/Retriever/Visor Enhance) others are pretty much worthless.
Again that aside - you might argue that people will play for dogtag.

Really?

Are you honestly going to sit there and tell me people will get 750 headshots with each assault rifle - sniper rifle and 500 headshots with shotgun?

I really really doubt it...

Game modes get repetitive - lack of killstreak variety gets boring and even the guns stop becoming fun...

Most of the challenges seem to have been put in as if just to fill the empty space - even the dogtags don't really matter that much as you can only see them in the lobby...

I love crysis 2 for what it is - when it came out i could not stop playing but as you can tell it did burn out quickly on me and I tell you that enjoy every minute you play crysis 2 before you get to level 50. Because once you do game will become boring very boring and rebooting is pointless...

Anyhow hope to get some feedback from you guys...

if anyone's wandering - my comma is broken -____-

I can play the multiplayer without problems, but things like no mod support are bothering me.
I think: IF Crytek adds / enables mod support the multiplayer won't become repetitive :)
( Like Crysis Wars. That game is 3 years old and is even played today )

MP is dead to me since 2 weeks back.

COD copy and paste system, i'd rather play COD, it feels so wrong in C2 MP.

PS: Hackers/Cheats are still there, joining 4playser.de servers are filled with them.

Yep, I'm bored of it, rank 30 in 2 days and I'm bored
metro 2033 is my current game
I could never get into that after playing Call of Pripyat.

Does Metro pick up after the first outside section? It bored me to death there, the atmosphear was great before that but it totally ruined it, those stupid gray flying monster things.

I prefer the openworld of STALKER always!

Dude, get the **** off the forums. You are not only a big fat hypocrit but you talk so much BS lol. I've made your threads and arguments look like pure **** and yet you continue to keep biching ****.

You played 115 hours on the multiplayer of a game you bich about. NO **** it gets repetetive, you're playing the **** same thing again and again, what the **** you expect to happen? I played a good 100 or so hours into Call of Duty and it was only mods bringin me back every now and then. Crysis 2 is mainly all about single player. It just happens the multiplayer is good enough, AND Crytek's aim was to have a solid 60 hour multiplayer experience where by then, you should have reached lvl 50 and you're set to show off your skillz. Crysis 2 is probably Crytek's first good multiplayer game, everything else they had in terms of multiplayer svcked.

Anyways, I'm tired of you and your **** threads. Go away lol; i can see im not the only one here who wants you to leave the forums

rank 30 in two days? I call ****. Either you have no life and played 40 hours straight or some **** like that, or you're lying. I'm going with the latter

I'm lvl 38 atm. And I have to agree with OP. I see alot of potential and I am really having fun to some degree, but there is just so much wrong. I feel like I am eating a strawberry sundae and someone keeps punching me in my stomach all the time.
The MP is not balanced well, it's repetetive and the "category" is a mix of "spawn and die like in quake" and counter-strike moevementspeed. And that mix kind of does not work. You don't get the same run, jump, shoot, kill fun as in quake and you just can't play it tactical and careful like CS, cause there's enemies everywhere.
That and the loads of bugs and misdecisions during (or even in) the design of the 3 preset graphic configs.

And the worst problem is that Crytek is a silent dev.

codename205, youve played over 6 hours a day since release. Why dont you keep that in mind while you think about why the game feels repetitive.

When you no life a game for 3 weeks straight like you have I can understand why it loses its appeal.

But do you know whats really sad folks? Hes still going to keep playing this game for hours on end each day.. jobless, sitting in his room in his parents house with the curtains closed all day with a 2ltr soft drink bottle next to him.

yup i agree after like 20-30mins i get frustrated so many hackers online destroying the game, and then all the bugs in this game, like losing the guns and weapons mods because the game does not save always, a crap top of ppl just camping invis all day long only going for easy kills with the least amount of skill required :/ as much as i dislike comparing any game to CoD at least i can see the campers as they cant sit there invis. I really hope the patch at least fixes all the bugs in the game, cuz otherwise for me i really dont see myself investing much time in it

@codename205
Any FPS type game is repetitive as hell and yet they don't die, you are using invalid arguments to explain why "this" game will die.

Multiplayer is alot of fun but I just wish that Crytek would fix all this bugs and do something bout this hackers. Patch 1.2 didn't get rid of those damn hackers; though they are fewer than b4.

Rubbish, I saw someone using a flying hack on the capture game mode (INANECRIS) who managed to fly 38 flags back to base in just a few minutes, on patch 1.2

My hope lies on the ingame store. I think the core mechanics of the shooter will make me come back regularly, especially if once in a while they release some new maps. But I feel/fear with you..

people who complain about invisible campers must not use nano vision. Thats what its for.
I do think the rocket launcher is out of place in this game. IF there were vehicles then I could see it being a needed weapon but i laugh when i get taken out by a rocket. Thats just stupid overkill for people who cant aim and need to kill one person with a freaking rocket.

I also just started using the grenade attachement and find its pretty useless or i just dont know how to use it effectively.

another thing hindering the game is if youreplaying with random people , everyone runs off to do their own thing and no one works as a team. Its much better when you have a squad that knows what they are doing and can back you up.

I find the kill streaks unnecessary. if they were removed id be happy with that. I just think that makes it look too much like they are trying to be call of duty ( a game series I hate)

Getting your first kill by kicking a car into someone is great , same with getting a stomp kill.
