I'm expecting a somewhat expanded version of FO3 and Skyrim.
I'm expecting a somewhat expanded version of FO3 and Skyrim.
I'm expecting to be stuck playing that game for a long, long time. That's all!
Mad Max was a good surprise not just some bad movie adaptation like game.
Batman Arkham knight i was 1 of the few with no issues in the game at all, but the vehicle stuff and pressing it down your throat was pissing me off in the end, so no 100% completion with that game, but it still had a good story arc.
The Witcher 3 Awesome game and good story arc at least it made sense for me.
GTA V for pc was also a nice one, and no issues at all.
So my overall pc games this year have not been bad at all, and i hope that stays true with Fallout 4 and Just Cause 3.
I found Skyrim in vanilla state quite attractive. Unfortunately, in the long run, it grew boring and repetetive. Played thorugh like 300 hours, then started modding. Trying to build the perfect day since then. Maybe next year. @charon711 is probably right. Maybe one should just limit their expectations to hunt down some mutants, anything else must follow through modding.
Cautiously optimistic is how I will be until I actually play the game.
My expectations are hopeful, considering the changes they've made from Fallout 3. I love Fallout: New Vegas for the story, the characters and the multiple endings. I am expecting Fallout 4 to be different, since it's made by Bethesda, and not Obsidian.
I, too have been disappointed by a couple of RPGs lately (The Witcher 3 and DAI).
I'm pretty confident this game is going to keep me busy for a couple of years.
If I want to stay reasonable I would want and expect Fallout to have:
- More sidequests and misc tasks than Skyrim (and better tasks than just to collect that three sapphires)
- More locations than Skyrim and less generic ones, too (not ten giant lairs), and each with a different story, quest, interesting landmark etc. behind it. Make every location have a meaning.
- A more dynamic world. In Fallout 3 and NV after you visited every location there was not really a lot to see anymore. With settlements and maybe moving caravans they make a good start, but I want to see more action and interaction between the locations. basically to make random encounters happen more often, a bit more generic and maybe a bit more crazy (Skyrim did well, I actually thought the different hunter/slaver encounters were cool, add some scavengers and beggars and patrols from the Fallouts and it will be better)
- Generally I want to be occupied by the base game more than with Fallout 3 and NV, a slower pace, more story to dive in (not the main story, the lore of Fallout). Basically more RPG.
- Beside all that crafting and building segment that I do not need and find overpriorized by Bethesda, it should not be just a huge timesink and opportunity for people to build giant phalusses (and this is going to happen), make the rest of the world meaningful so your settlements can fit nicely in there.
As for the last bit, there was a LEGO MMO out there, a really great piece of game. The company, the devs, the servers and the game were unsuccessful, because they had to hire an immense amount of more gamemasters that could not do anything else but wander through the world and dismantle millions of LEGO peckers. Sounds funny, but in reality isn't. There was a chance and a good ideal behind this product and it failed because humans are generally idiots.
I think these expectations are reasonable, but Bethesda might not meet all of them fully. I am looking forward to it though.
Have you played TW3? Easily the GOTY (so far).
You know I think you might be the first person I've seen who've said they're disappointed by Twitcher 3. I played 1 and 2 (but never even finished 2) and the games never really jived for me but everybody just gushes continually over 3 that I've been thinking about getting it. Even though the exact same happened with the first two and I didn't really like either.
Reasonable expectations? Well, I expect to be somewhat disappointed. I expect that I will enjoy the game immensely, but that I will still grip about certain changes that I do not like.
i didnt go crazy about Witcher 3 either, after playing it for a while i just couldnt finish it, the game look great and all but i hate a lot of the gameplay, like who OP u are mount on a horse or how easy is to become God like on low level trow glyph
You are far from the only one i mean sure its a good game and it looks stuning(main story is well done, graphics are excelent etc...), however there has always been one thing i never liked in any of the Witcher games and that is the combat sytem. In their previus games that didnt actualy bother me enough not to actualy finish the game however the W3 is much larger in comparison to previus instalments so eventualy the dislike of the combat sytem halted my progres cuz i simply cudnt bring myself to complete the game.(and lets be honest here combat is what you do for most of the game anyway so its no wonder i eventualy stoped playing it before completion).
Only other thing i was bothered with in entire Witcher franchize is fixed non customizable protagonist which for me limits the replayability value of the game a lot(i know it makes sence to be like that since its basicly done after a novel).
yeah i hate how the combat tent to auto select what i want to hit, it get worst when u fight a pack of wolf or harpies. Plus one part that make me hate it a lot was they allow u to go underwater they have part of quest that happen under water, but u have 0 way to defend yourself, and the monster there not only hit u the drag u so is hard to get away.
Actualy the crosbow is your underwater wepon it will one shot prety much anything underwater that is around your lvl even on highest dificulty.(just incase you ever get back to the game doesnt hurt to know what to use underwater).
But yeah in general the Withcer combat sytem to me fells more like an arcade game than an rpg which bothers me:)
I expect to be able to play at a solid 60 fps at 1080p on my brand new custom built laptop. I also expect the game to be nothing short of breathtaking, with enough content to keep me busy for a very very long time
Nice avatar, Amon Amarth are one of my favorite bands to see live (right after the band from my own avatar) and they come to my city almost yearly.
I expect Fallout 4 to consume hundreds of hours and be the greatest game of all time. Yes really. Fallout 3 changed my life, and it looks like they've improved on it in pretty much every way. I'm not the type of person to have "reasonable" expectations. Specifically I expect more of what has always made Bethesda the unquestionable best at what they do: incredible attention to detail that turns every inch of the environment into part of its own little story. I can live with imperfections in the combat, plot, mechanics, and characters, but the environmental detail has to be on point.
Just over £2,500 (which is around $3,800). Worth every penny though
