Reasons to get BRINK?

Post » Wed Jun 02, 2010 10:39 am

It is no surprise that I'll be getting BRINK (PS3) when it comes out. However, I'm having a hard time convincing any of my friends, co-workers, etc. on getting it. I really don't know what BRINK's biggest selling point is aside from all of the character customization options. I don't mind playing multiplayer with strangers but it's just not as fun as playing with your friends. How can I convince them to ge it? Or at least think about getting it...Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It doesn't put artifical constraints on the player, like only allowing you to use this many attachemnts, or only allowing you to use a certain gun on a certain class.
It's team based, people get more XP from doing team stuff therefore they will do more team stuff.
It's a revolutionairy new way to play, with people able to jump in at any given time. This also eliminates the problem with few people.

It's going to be one of the most intuitive multiplayer experiences people have ever had. It's going to be a break from the usual ME ME ME gamestyle that everyone is used to. It's going to be fresh and fast paced. It's not the same old "gritty warfare" style that EVERY game has. It's going to have an amazing art style that will have to be seen in action to be appreciate. I think just getting them to sit down and watch the videos and stuff would be the best approach it.

And honestly they can sit on the sidelines and miss out on a sleeper hit if they don't want to get on board now.

They're not afraid to try new things. They just all have games that they're stuck on and they swear by (Killzone, COD, Battlefield). Personally, I'm just looking for something to keep me occupied until RAGE comes out and that's how BRINK caught my attention.

It would be helpful to know what your mateys currently play, I believe.

If they play Battlefield (Bad Company 2), BRINK will give them more intense objective based infantry combat with alot more customisation.
If they play Call of Duty (Black Ops), BRINK will give them more advanced objective based infantry combat with alot more customisation.

In general, BRINK will allow them a lot more freedom of movement across the maps.

The objectives in BRINK are much better presented than in common multiplayer-games, as they are actually story-driven. So you don't just "go there and capture this", but "go deep into the Resistance territory to find and extract a possible bio-weapon which threatens all citizens of the Ark // repel the Security-intruders who try to steal medicine which is important to keep the refugees in Container City healthy and alive".

Right I comepletely agree. It will be easier to convince the ones who play BFBC2 into getting BRINK since they both emphasize team-play. Idk about the ones who are stuck on COD and Killzone though lol

Well, if they wanna try something new and fresh, they should try out BRINK, they don't have to buy it at start, but you could let them try it out at your place.

It's what I tell my friends, that they can try out the game with my copy, and then decide if they want it or not, becuase I for sure will get it, and if they try it out first, then it might get clear for them if they want it or not.

Like Richard Ham said:

"Console gamers have never seen the objective based style of multiplayer gameplay, that PC players have been enjoying now for almost a decade."

Once you play an SD-style, class-based team objective shooter, no other team objective game compares, and this is why you should play Brink.

A game that actually needs teamwork. Very awesome with friends. And it promotes it so even with random people thanks to the objective wheel.
Awesome graphics and art style. Isn't just another brown shooter. Varid level design.
Kickass character customization where you can actually customize all the details of your character etc.
SMART button. Freedom of movement.
And much much more.
