The only things that really bother me about Skyrim is the limitations that did not exist in prior games, and dont really need to exist. For example, Sprint+Jump, Jump+Attack, Water-Walking, and more.
When it comes to spells, honestly the spellmaking system in oblivion was just way too statsy for me. Magick is supposed to be a mystical art, not the art of crunching numbers to make the best spell...all spellmaking in oblivion did for me is continually make me think that i wasn't using a good enough one. It was only when i used the store bought spells that i actually felt like i was doing okay.
However, if it were implemented in a way more lore-appropriate, i would be all for it. For example, in order to cast a spell you first need to gather all the ingredients for it, and the more powerful the spell, the more ingredients needed. A low level frost spell might take 10 thistle seeds, while a high level frost spell might take 20 frost salts, y'know?
If it were like that, I could go with it, because it's a bit more mystical, but i would never want to have a system like oblivions spellmaking again.
