Probably the weakest arguement I've seen on defending spears. Sorry if that sounds harsh. Besides, there's already an active spears thread, you should use it.

I don't really "not care" but I'm far from torn up about it. I mean, they'd be cool but not necessary. I think the reason is that alot of people probably didn't use them too much in MW ( I can't say if there were any before that, never played it). That's my guess anyway

I probably would never use them, but I'd like to fight enemies who did. I have never used axes, hammers, two handed weapons, and rarely daggers(but I will in skyrim!), but that doesn't mean I'd want them taken out. The more diverse my enemies I fight, the better.

Spears were no more overpowered than any other weapon. In fact, they were actually some of the worst weapons to use in the game. The only people who say they were overpowered are the people who learned how to exploit them. But exploits =/= overpowered.

what was the exploit?

People learned the far edge of a spear's range, and just stayed in that range through constant running away. But it was a very specific range, which could only be used if you backed away from whatever enemy younwere fighting. In addition, spears were much rarer than other weapons and usually weaker.
